Desperate to sell? Tell the punters to double-up purpose on a £17.99 shonky shoe warmer upper to use it shoeless and sit by it for warmth. It speaks volumes for the sort of hapless idiots they think they are pitching to. Frighteningly, there are people, probably cold, heating bills conscious, who’d go for the completely unsuitable for described purpose, and buy it, thinking it will save them from putting their proper heating on. Words of condemnation sometimes run out.

Numii again, thought when it sold out we weren't going to see it again this year.

I found this in their terms & conditions, read the small print folks!

SOLD OUT
Ideal World stores products across five (5) different storage facilities. When a product is classed as 'sold out', this confirms there are zero (0) of that product left within one (1) or more of Ideal World's five (5) storage facilities but not necessarily all five (5.) That is to say, one (1) or more of Ideal World's storage facilities might have a quantity of a product left and Ideal World reserve the right to sell that product even though it has previously been classed as 'sold out.' Once these storage facilities are empty of the product, it can again be deemed as 'sold out' even though stock of the product might have been replenished in one (1) or more of the storage facilities that were devoid of the product. In a scenario where all five (5) storage facilities are empty in relation to a product, Ideal World reserve the right to class it as being 'sold out' even if a stock replenishment is expected within 24 hours or any time duration thereafter. All rights reserved. Nothing you have just read can be considered factual.

So a storage facility could be a lock up garage or a filing cabinet and doesn’t necessarily mean a warehouse?

I wonder if all their storage facilities are in the UK? If they have a large warehouse at the suppliers/manufacturers in a far flung part of the world (e.g China) then in theory, they’ll never be sold out.

When QVC say it’s Sold Out in the warehouse, the next sentence is but we do have advanced orders that will be despatched on x date. Otherwise it’s actually sold out. When they have their clearance sales, the presenters will often state when it’s gone we most probably won’t be reordering.

While it may have been a joke, there is a lot of truth in your post, just replace warehouse stocks with show allocation stock and you get the same result, ie it's only the stock for that show that's sold out, still more stock for other shows in the warehouse, although presenters don't say that.

Yeah it's all smoke and mirrors with them.

Bounce backs from folk not checking out.
Additional stock found down the back of the green room sofa.
Managing to secure additional stock after lengthy through the night negotiations with the wholesaler (Costco.)

etc etc.
