They can't even spell the product brand correctly on the website or on the item panel when I saw it on an IW TV slot.

Well, they are powered, I think by Ronda-515-A2C3’s. You can get these for as little as £10 each - the mechanism, I mean - and would be hard pressed to find them anywhere for more than £20.

There are two versions of this movement: Swiss Made and Swiss parts. Both are nickel plated with 1 jewel.

This IW version seems to be the ‘Swiss Made’ version, so let’s be charitable and say it would cost around £15.
I think a fair price, allowing for the case, the profit and a guarantee would be around £100- £150, but I do know that some independent jewellers have sold these for as much as £225 or so (or at least listed them at that. Sales are always a different matter!).
I can’t imagine the wholesale price isn’t too far much above £75, though.
I’d say, for once, the IW price isn’t too far out of line, but it’s a cheap mechanism in a watch that, style-wise, is a copy of the designs of others. It isn’t the best thing since sliced bread, but I think if you like it, and want to wear it for a couple of battery changes (should be every 4 years on this model - strangely the 515s - newer and ‘better’ - needs new batteries every 2 years), then a lifespan of 8 years before making that ‘service or discard’ decision isn’t too bad.

V channel - is that the ‘watch commander’? He used to sell some fairly decent watches, but I read some very negative reviews on service standards, i think, a few years ago.
One of those places where, if things go well, that’s fine, but if they don’t, then I’m not sure replacements and/or repairs always go smoothly.

So that's probably what he's referring to.
 
hahaha - they're selling gem trees! The rubbish that Peter Simon was jabbering on about had actually been written down, such is his cognitive decline - you saw him in the background walk over to a script on the table, and then when the camera panned out you could see it on the table. It's also a very similar script to the worry angels.

I've seen better gem trees sold by a 12-year-old at a craft fair. Again, that looks more like Indian tat than Chinese tat.

Both are Swiss watchmaking brands.

Swiss Alpine is a Grovana brand, I had a Grovana watch a few years back, was good, well made, the Swiss Alpine looks like a more affordable range, probably on a par with Swiss Military by Hanowa that IW used to do.

They are in Tenniken, small village not far from Basel.

Mondaine are the railway clock watch folk, they also own the Luminox brand (a competitor to Kevski's Traser, but more well known). ;)

They are okay, like the railway clock style dial, but at the cheaper end they're a bit too minimalistic in the case, you hardly realise you're wearing one, pretty light weight. I had one but always had problems trying to get a grip of the crown. But wouldn't say no to the EVO 2 automatic, better crown and bit more bulk to it.

I was watching PS yesterday evening and Muriel was in for stuff along with two other names rattled off in quick succession. He was reading their names off a screen.
