So the channel gives price comparisons on products and they are either a direct comparison or if there isn’t a direct one they will stipulate it is a non direct comparison. for me - the fact you can always send a item back if you aren’t satisfied with it is the most important message. And I do think that point is made clearly.
I try and tread a careful line on here because I have joined as a member of the forum and not a spokesperson for IW. and as a member who also works in this industry all I can tell you is there is not an agenda to dupe people or mislead them. There isn’t that ‘culture’ in any of the shopping channels I have worked for.

So I can’t speak for IW as I’m not their spokesperson and it’s wrong for me to comment. But if I’m being asked on here about me trying to deliberately mislead people I will try and answer. If you disagree with me, or my responses anger people then it may be best I step away from the forum. But if I do the key thing for me is I am not ever trying to mislead people, ever.

The not a direct price comparisons with higher prices are always of far far superior quality hence the higher prices but they try to make out what they are flogging is of similar quality . Could you give the forum users YOUR opinion of them using forum users names on fake text messages or don't you believe they do that

I’ll leave this as the last answer because I don’t want to antagonise or go back and forward with you guys. But this question of fake texts and using forum members names I did mention this a couple of weeks ago. Text messages come through to us in the studio and we read them out. No one is going through this forum and using your names or handles. I have asked and it’s just not done. They don’t have time to be doing this and why would they? Is there a possibility that someone in the forum is texting through and using your names? Or someone just reading the forum because anyone can read these comments and then text any of the shopping channels.

I had an awful text come through to me months ago from a Rod in Hull who had fallen off a ladder and was recuperating at home and watching the channel.

Now the producer who put this through to me genuinely felt sorry for this bloke who had fallen. Being a bit older I immediately realised this was someone being terrible. The guys running a live gallery and channel have so much to do with Cameras and stock, calls coming in etc that they are not sat reading this and typing out messages.

Hi guys,
I realise I’m probably on a hiding to nothing posting on here but I have been part of this forum and happy to speak out / agree / disagree etc.
My job is to not sell everything but try and tell and explain products, what they are, how they work etc as honestly as I can do that.
I’m not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and I’m aware of that and I respect those opinions, whilst of course I want to put a bit of personality into what I’m doing - it’s not about me it has to be about whatever product I have.
The pillows today - for 2 of them at £17.99 it’s a good price. They aren’t the best pillows in the world and I will also say that. But for the price they were good. They aren’t what I sleep on and I’ll make that point but I have to be aware that whoever is watching and buying - there is a price point for everyone so I have to show the merits.

The drone - this is why I specifically said at the top of the show - I’m not a drone expert because I’m not! . But it gave me an opportunity to show people how it worked and it is brilliant for that price. I did buy them for my kids.

Now you may choose to believe me or not, I can’t affect that just as I know some won’t like me or think I’m trying to con them.
But I go to work, I love this industry and am grateful for the job I have on it. And I don’t go onto it thinking I am trying to dupe people. I try to learn as much as I can about the products I am given and tell people that at home. And then I go home myself. I have some great friends in the shopping TV industry as a whole, I also have others who I might not be there type of person. Just like in any business.
I will get things wrong - I noticed I said 720 rather than 780 and I crashed the drone into the wall . But that’s also part of live TV and not being perfect.

So I’m not posting this because I want people to like me or because I’m trying to win favour and I’m not a spokesperson of IW. I’m a member of this forum and happen to work on IW and previously Shop on TV and other channels.
But I don’t try and dupe anyone. That’s key to me. I don’t go to work to try and con people. I work in a shop that is televised and my job when I’m on is to focus on telling people the features and benefits of what that product is.
And that is me. as a member of this forum.
Some will find me boring or smarmy or cocky and I read that and If it’s mentioned by a number of people, I do try and address it because obviously that’s not how I want to come across. So I’m Not trying to make friends or have people like me because otherwise I could just read the comments, or ignore the comments or not engage at all.
I might do a video (of course I will need permission) of what I do in a day, how it works etc as I have always said before - this forum / community is important because you watch everyday.
But like me / don’t like me - I try to do the best job I can in explaining the products I’m given and I do not try and rip anyone off. Hope you guys are well and good.

Herring - lots of points here I can always learn from and I have from many comments on my narrative on products in the past and Cheeky knows that on the mattresses.
But - sometimes I can’t know everything or have time to research absolutely everything about everything. I will learn more each time I have something like the drone or I read comments like above and take those points on board.

The company's website is selling it for $4,656.00 but IW are selling it for £59.99. In fact, Sally said "someone is selling it for that" and laughed. But it was the company itself that had the huge price.

Let's hope Peter S is never given this to flog

Today they used a direct price comparison today for some flat battery starter unit. They said the same item was on sale elsewhere for over £100. Ideal World was selling the same item for £49.99. Fine. But where exactly was the same item being sold elsewhere for £100 plus? Why no direct link? Of course, on that basis, there is zero credibility to the claim. Is it unreasonable therefore to suspect the price comparison was not true? Also, saying people can send items back they don’t like to somehow allow the above is completely unacceptable. It should be an absolute prerequisite that encouragement to buy is based upon checkable fact and not picked out of the sky price comparisons.

And the fake texts- do me a favour…They may reach you as presenters in ‘believable’ form. What you all need to be checking is did they start their journey on a Gallery phone, or from an external, genuine customer one?

Thanks, Alex. You of course, could be right. What is completely indefensible is the unsourced direct price comparisons. Completely unjustifiable and unnecessary, too. As you know, on the previous versions of Ideal World, ALL direct price comparison related sales information was SOURCED. They never did indirect ones. There is a reason why this outfit does it differently. Not a good one, either.

You know what, I've actually texted in with factual correct information, to correct presenters misinformation during their sales pitch, original using my real name, but since the Hammy texts have started I use "The Real Hammy" and you know what everyone has been ignored, neither have my texts been mentioned nor have the errors, I've pointed out, been corrected, yet Hammy texts spouting utter rubbish are being read out quite regularly.Strange huh?
