I remember that well, or getting wound up at the DJ if he talked over the intro, or cut the song off early. I had two radios, one tuned to Radio 1 and the other to Radio Caroline. Radio Caroline was really difficult to pick up in NI so it was best NEVER to retune

Yes, particularly when the DJ was Jimmy Savile who was totally incoherent and was unable to just say the artist and song title

Particularly remember The Read and Wright show on Radio 1 - Mike Read and Steve Wright, may have been late 70s. And I attended one of the Radio 1 roadshows in the early 80s. Happy memories of my younger days. I'm more Radio 4 these days

What a variety of LP's they've got for sale, Buddy Holly, The Platters, Dean Martin, Billie Holliday. Even I'm not that old. He's just actually played a bit of Elvis, it sounded horrendous.
