If you don't cry at Blood Brothers you must be dead. do you find that the more you see it the more you cry cos you then cry before it's even happened? I'm tearing up now thinking about it!! Gizz a sweet!!!

Oh yes! I must have shed a tear before, especially at the end but it's got worse and worse, empathy is sooooo mean.

I can't act, sing or dance so I'm totally in awe of them, and they (mostly) do it all with a smile. Did you know there's a musical doing the rounds about Susan Boyle's life? With Elaine C Smith (from Rab C Nesbitt) playing her...getting good press. I think the Claire Sweeney thing has been and gone hasn't it? I know she's due to be in Educating Rita at the Menier quite soon.

I agree about nick Joan's being rubbish as Marius.....I know a lady who had to console a man sitting next to her at Blood Brothers... Said he was beside himself poor fella....it gets me Everytime....and when you know what's going to happen as the beginning comes on ....well I'm gone then ....laughing ...then crying ..Then crying and oh um crying again lol....:song:

I saw the Lion King in New York and it was fabulous that was the only musical we could get tickets for so went to see
La Cage aux Folles with Kelsey Grammer which was funny, everywhere was booked up and needless to say ther only seats left were the most expensive ones but I don`t suppose I`ll ever have the chance to go again so I`m not complaining

Oh and when we went to see Chicago it wasn`t the cast on the night we had booked to see which was a disappointment

totally agree with you all, Nick Jonas was dreadful as Marius, I simply cannot believe that they cast him as that role to showcase the big celebratory DVD release, when there would have been so many choices they could have gone with. To me he spoilt the DVD as he is just so wimpy with no gusto in his voice that whenever his character came on I just found myself getting wound up.

Still perhaps they did it for the eye candy aspect for the younger audience .... gould that makes me sound old LOL.

Got my tix for Lion King in Manchester. Yay!

I saw la Cage Aux Folles with Graham Norton..... It was ahem. "different"

Sister Act touring was absolutely brilliant, if it's on near you go see it.

I walked out of Oliver! the other week at the interval. It was making me cringe... Hated it!

I live about 500 yards from the Palace theatre in Manc, and 10 minutes walk from the Opera House... I'm very lucky :0)

That's worth knowing about Oliver Burley bear....as long as there isn't a musical with Myleen Class in it ...I'll be ok lolol she seems to turn up on everything....just seen her on a trailer for a programme tomorrow....I digress

I got tickets for Lion King in Bristol in September - looking forward to that one.

I saw La Cage Aux Folles staring Philip Quast who was the original Javert in Les Mis - yes it was different but we got cheap tickets through an offer I was emailed by Ambassador Tickets and it only cost a fiver each at the theatre in London. So with parking (we do the 1/2 price theatreland scheme) and a programme had a great night out for around £20 LOL

Glad to hear about Oliver - might just give that one a miss.

Spamalot is very funny - and if you are a Monty Python fan I believe it is better (I didn't understand all the references as I am not). Got tickets with the Tesco Rewards for this.

We also saw the very ever first performance of Mary Poppins in Bristol as they did pre-London launch and that was also very good.

I do also think that they put these 'pop stars' into musicals to boost the young audience but there are so many good young musical theatre actors it is a shame as they can knock spots off these singers. It is a bit like the telly shows like 'Search for a Nancy' it is great for promoting the show.
