Thanks for that info - you may have confirmed a suspicion I've been nursing for ages regarding the 'rarity' of Tanzanite and why we must all rush out and buy shedloads of the stuff....

I laugh each time Liz Fuller says she thinks tanzanite is the rarest gemstone ever...

It's all relative of course, but tanzanite is a rare gemstone. Mind you, there have only been 10-15 years of mining left for the last 4 years - shouldn't that now make 6-11 years??

well if the mine floods again, then output will slow to a trickle, so to speak. It's rare when you consider how many other sources most other gems have.
