Won't be buying these. They look so nice but the last set I bought was such a disappointment. Hardly any scent at all

They DO look lovely, thanks SCW!

But I think a lot of people have been very disappointed with Prices in the past.

Are they riding on Yankee's success? I always associated Prices with good quality non drip traditional candles for candlesticks. I could be interested in some of those.

I bought a Price's TSV and was very disappointed in the candle scents. Some were weak but one was really horrible. However, each came with a candle snuffer which was fantastic!!!!!!!!

I bought a Prices TSV for Christmas presents last year and ended up sending two of the fragrances to the charity shop. They absolutely stank and I was too embarrassed to give them as gifts in the end. A total waste of money. I definitely stick to Yankees now.

I'll buck the trend and say I much prefer Price's to the Yankee ones I've tried, simply on the basis that the scents are far more subtle. I think my sense of smell is a curse because I can't melt a 1/4 of a yankee tart in my electric tart warmer for more than about 20 minutes before I get a headache (regardless of the scent). The names of the scents sound lovely (apart from vanilla so I'll give that away). I might go for this.

Why Oh why do all of the candle TSV's contain tea lights they are something of nothing in my humble opinion.
You can pick them up for pennies in almost every shop on the high street and in all of the supermarkets.
so not for me sorry Q.

I am with you here. I like Yankee but do like the subtle Price's scents. The sets are usually very good value too.

I prefer Prices to Yankee as well. My all time favourite candle was a Prices one from years ago called 'Figgy Pudding'. I have tried and tried to get it again but I think it must have been discontinued. I notice this set has a Fig fragrance in it so I'm quite tempted to give this TSV a go.

Oh I knew I had one left from that TSV Mr M so went to look but it's the Mulled Wine one. You never know one might turn up on ebay.

I'm really unsure what to do now. The opinion on here seems polar opposites - love and hate. I get really bad hemiplegic migraines and aura migraines, so can only use tea lights and half hour of votives with Yankee candles. Maybe the Price ones will be better? I love the sound of the scents. I don't like spice scents so most of these sound perfect. I'm really undecided though :-S

I'd say try them. I found them weak in comparison to Yankees, but if you find Yankees overpowering (and they can be!) then the Prices might be worth a go. It's a good price as my Sainsburys sells prices jars at over £6 each.

Every year Prices do a TSV, and apart from the year when they came in an organza bag, they always come in a gift box. But not this year for some reason. Don't think I'll bother now because without the gift box it just looks like summat you've picked up in Tescos IMO.
