Something thoughtful Strato, to make up for past error. Ask her, tell her you are not a mind reader and her wish is your command. Make for better atmosphere around dinner table. Grovel, grovel, and grovel again. Remember my tape dispenser giver? He's now my ex! Just a warning, that's all!

Go shopping with her in the next few weeks and take note of anything she says she likes but dosent buy.Nothing practical something that says i care and i'm spoiling you

Whats a good thing to get for men, beside all the usual, shirts, socks , tee shirts , toiletries etc. and don't say gadgets LOL

Actually, I feel the same way about receiving any the usual things you suggest for men that women seem to feel about getting gadgets and practical stuff.

In other words, they are things you need anyway and not exciting.

I have NEVER been excited about buying clothes for me, they are just items to keep me warm or dry, and only get replaced when they wear out.

But I really DO like getting gadgets, which is why I tend to buy them for others too.

My partner loves motorbiking and anything to do with it, so i used to buy him a new motorbike book every year, and
calendar, things like that. He does like clothes, maybe a new jacket or shoes, but after the fiasco of a few christmas's
the last few years we.ve stopped buying and i don't think its a good idea, as i didn't like it, felt weird. He on the other
hand loves it, as he doesn't have to make an effort, so i said this year we're trying again, and its not gone down too
well. I make an effort so i don't see why he can't. He made an effort, when we were going out, this isn;t looking good
i know LOL

My husband is useless at present buying and would admit it himself so every Christmas he asks me to email him links of things I`d like and he chooses which he wants to buy. It means I know I`m going to get something I`d like but still has the element of surprise because I never know until I unwrap it on Christmas Day which item or items he`s bought me. It saves him worrying he`s buying me something I won`t like, it also saves wasting his money on something I won`t use and it saves me a trip back to the store to return something plus he nearly always loses the receipt.
It works for us. Last year the links I sent him were for a dress I`d already seen and tried on in Next, some very expensive body lotion I fancied, a silver pendant from Hot Diamonds, a dressing gown I`d seen in Debenhams, some perfume and a pair of leather ankle boots I`d seen. I got the dress and the Hot Diamonds pendant. At the moment I`m just searching out the things to email him for this year`s list.

What colour were you thinking of?

Quite like the camouflauge and the nude would appeal but Ive never actually seen skin that colour

Think this one was made for Bruce Forsyth

Yes - it looks like lime green to me - always a difficult colour to wear. I'd go with the camouflage.......

Hmmm ....
An old but beautiful story of marriage and communication between a husband and wife.

(Don't read it strato!)

A couple went Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. The town was packed to the rafters.
Thinking her husband had gone very quiet, she was surprised to look up and see her husband was not there.
She was quite upset because they had a lot to do. She searched for him, retracing her steps, but he was nowhere to be found. Because she was so worried, she called him on her mobile phone to ask him where he was.

In a calm voice, the husband said, "Darling, remember the jewellery store we went into about 5 years ago, where you fell in love with that diamond necklace that we could not afford, and I told you that I would get it for you one day?"

The wife choked up and started to cry and said, "Yes, I remember that jewellery store."
He said, "Well, I'm in the bar right next to it."

Oh sounds lovely Latchi, have never tried the supervalu ones. But i have bought the starbucks coffee cup funny enough, loved it. I love
Christmas also, am thinking of getting things down next week to sort through the decorations, (just for inside) and this year we're all
going to the Christmas market in town, mean to go every year, and never get round to it, so this is the year :song: :song:

Mother gave me a PressureCooker one Christmas. Sis-in-Law received one also. Both of us were unimpressed. A co-worker was excited when HerHubby 'phoned and said, "I'm bringing dinner home." Fabulous she thought and set the table when she arrived home. He turned up with a bag full of groceries. She thought he meant, ReadyToEat and he meant, ReadyForHerToPrepare.:mysmilie_10: And all of us, AroundTheWaterCooler the next morning, were on HerSide!:mysmilie_480:

What is with husbands/partners who are incapable of buying you the right present? From personal experience, I put it down to sheer laziness.

It must be wonderful to have a man who knows exactly how to having you eating out of his hand from one year to the next! Doesn't matter what it is, romantic or practical, the secret is in the man knowing it's what you are going to love.

I used to get the same bottle of perfume for Christmas and my birthday, in the same wrapper - the bag it came in, and never a card. I wasn't ungrateful but boring or what! I use to enjoy making a lot of effort with gifts for him, taking note of off the cuff comments throughout the year etc.

That's why I got into the habit buying myself a present twice a year, still do, only now as I now live alone I can afford to spend a bit more on it!!! :clapping:
