Poll: Shampoo and Conditioner - the best?

Hi all, We may have done this before, but I have forgotten. Looking for a new haircare brand. I post a poll on shampoo and conditioner, so as not to get confused with styling stuff. Looking at general use, as there are lots of specialist brands out there.
So, what's the best out there? :33:

A few months ago I would have said Ojon, but having used my Aveda a couple of times lately instead of the Ojon, I voted Aveda. My hair looked better having used the Aveda.

As I posted on another thread, I'm really surprised to have found my hair has been in the best condition ever since using the L'occitane Shea Milk Shower Cream on my hair. Very surprising I know, but it's never been so shiny.

I never liked Aveda as I always found it left my hair rather knotty and dry, although the scents were lovely.

I dont use a brand of QVC, I use "Samy Salon" or "Tigi"

Aveda for me too but I wouldn't be without Philip Kingsley's elasticiser either.

From QVC I like the Louise Galvin range as it's laureth sulphate free. There are reviews about the shampoo not foaming well which is sort of true so what I do is do a first shampoo with baby shampoo then a second with the LG one.The conditioner is lovely and the treatment masque is gorgeous.

Salon brand (non QVC) that I love is Redken All Soft which is heaven for colour treated and over styled hair. Really revives it.

Waitrose's own coconut and white cranberry shampoo and conditioner, 99p a bottle, and my hair's never been so shiny and tangle-free. They've got various other fragrances for all the different hairtypes, but this one's for dry/damaged.
I know a lot of people are concerned about the chemicals that go into hair products, and I have to say that unfortunately, the list of ingredients is long and reads like a chemistry lesson..so I'm sure many people would be put off by this. However, I'm loving it!

Anyone remember "Egg shampoo?"...I've not seen it for years. Most supermarkets did a version of it and it was dirt cheap!

Agree about the cost of shampoo. I like what I'm using now, but I do think sometimes it's all hype. I have friend who has THE SHINIEST hair I have ever seen. She uses Boots ultra cheapy range, which is about 69p a bottle.

I was wondering if we might find that many have switched from the QVC "premium" brands to other options - be it salon or supermarket. Do they work any better - is haircare a con in that the cheap stuff can be as good as the expensive stuff?

I like the Ojon styling products, but the shampoos and conditioners never did a lot for my hair to be honest. I have very thick coarse dry hair and the best I've found for it is the Philosophy Shear Splendor. It smells wonderful as well.

I love Aveda Shampure but can't afford it at the minute (I used to buy it in litre sizes!) I'm currently using the philosophy Amazing Grace range and must say I'm really liking it but still not as yummy as Aveda!

High Street wise I like the John Frieda Brunette range and keep meaning to try Tommyguns as their Weather Protect Dew Drops are great!

LOVE philip k & also aveda....we also use hairfix...& have tried ojon but not too keen..i also like philosphy splendour & their conditioner.....ive stopped buying supermarket brands BUT looks like i may be going to have a go very soon.....i was told many many years ago by a hairdresser that to swop ALWAYS your shamppos & conditioner about

I voted Ojon but only use it when I Ojon condition my hair and afterwards its amazing. For everyday I use Alberto Balsam tea tree and mint and at £2 for 3 bottles it's on par with the 69p bottles previously mentioned. A lifelong friend straightened my hair as a treat recently and couldn't believe its condition and said it's so healthy and shiny. I hadn't Ojon'd it for a while either. I sometimes use Avada leave in (forgot what its called) which is being discontinued soon. Think Shampure is one of the best you can get but like emj mentioned, just cannot afford it for everyday use.

I have several on the go at once and pick the product according to how my hair feels and the styling result I'm after on the day.
For overall performance and preference I have voted for Aveda (I use Blue Malva). I also like the moisturising Ojon one. I found MOP a bit drying, though gave a shiny finish. L'Occitane shea range, both the shampoo/conditioner and the body wash gives a glossy finish but a bit too heavy for my fine hair to get body when styling. I also sometimes use Avon for extra body.

I don't do expensive haircare I'm afraid!
I am very picky about my conditioner - the only brand I've found that I'm happy with is Avon (bizarrely!), shampoo I just go for something that smells nice, preferably of fruit!!!

I have to be careful with shampoo and conditioners, so many make my head itch. Not sure if its the ingredients or the perfume in them.

I am really liking at the moment Kevin Murphy his range is SLS free etc and gives you beautiful soft shiney hair with no silicone involved.

I do like Ojon as well.
