Fresh flowers are lovely but dont last more than a few days in my house. I dont mind in the summer when they are from my own garden and there are plenty more to follow.
For me if a flower doesn't smell (and not C'mums which make me sick) I am dissappointed, especially a rose. The first thing you do to a flower is stick your nose in to smell and feel cheated when there is none.
I love sweet peas for that very reason.
