Hello,

I know there is probably (well there is because I myself posted a posting in it) a posting of the above, but I am not 'bored enough' to try and find it (sorry to the moderator)!

I was wondering does anyone else remember a past shopping channel called Shop! Simon Brown (Cooks Essential) and Anthony Heywood (past Q presenter), were on it. I was doing some 'surfing' (the non-energetic kind) and found that Debi Jones (the Julia Roberts of Shop!) also was a presenter on Q (see there was a link, again I know very tenous), does anyone remember her and was she 'main' or 'guest'.

I wasn't able to watch Q for ages as we didn't have Sky and I had to rely on the main TV (my parents weren't and still aren't) fans of 'selly telly', now of course with the advent of laptops/tablets etc we can watch what we want were we want (how tech moves).

So yes, sorry once again for the ramble, just curious!

Here you go: http://www.debijones.co.uk/about-debi.html

In 2000, Debi was approached to head up the first all-British Shopping T.V. channel, “Shop!” It was a combination of Granada Television as the Production Company, and Littlewoods who were the suppliers. As main presenter, Debi quickly gained a reputation for humour mixed with honesty, which proved to be an ideal mix for this specialist niche. Her selling skills, approachability and sometimes “naughty” sense of humour gained her something of a cult following! Debi has been a presenter on Ideal World, QVC and The Jewellery Channel.

That's where I got the information from :mysmilie_19: just curious to know whether anyone actually remembered her on Q

I suppose anyone who has been 'groomed' in the art of 'selly telly' can then I suppose sell anything. I mean look at some of the junk/tat (and I mean real (poundshop stuff), that use to be on BID TV (sorry if anyone was 'fleeced' (sorry purchased), from this channel, but selling on their must have truly been 'exasperating' at times. I know the majority went to IW (another reason why I stopped watching), apart from Steve Mcdonald who has become 'Dyson Man'. I suppose even though he is doing less (despite the number of TSV's Dyson seems to have), he probably thought he had jumped from the 'relegation zone to premier league' in the selly telly world!

I remember seeing an interview with Steve Whatley after he had moved to Ideal World. He said that he could 'sell snow to Eskimos'
Debbie Flint probably thinks she can do the same these days.

I remember shop and the lady in question; i think she was a main and she may have been on Pavers shoes tv as well. Some of their products were really naff, but i enjoyed watching it.
