Out of stock email 5 days after order placed and money taken!

Hi, l ordered an X hose and spray attachment 5 days ago, money taken from my account only to get an email now saying l will be getting a refund as the goods are out of stock.
I ordered online so as not to pay the extortionate call charges whilst they faff about in the call centre, and cannot understand why for the life of me they take my money and then 5 days after order placed email me to say goods are sold out.
Not impressed
Not amused
Very angry
What appalling customer service
 
Probably messed up in stock control.

At least they have had the decency to let you know and are processing a refund for you.
 
Although not the same product, I had a similar experience. E-mail to say refunding purchase price as unable to supply, no explanation as to why. However, did not in the first instance, refund P&P. After a further e-mail, back in my account.
 
Thanks l will keep an eye on that, just amazes me how quick they are too take your money and how slow they are to refund it.
