I've been away for a few days and haven't been watchin. I'm just in off the plane, slam the telly on for some Q fun and get faced with
1. Simon Wilson -never good
2. Simon Wilson in front f a Christmas tree. Wrist-slittingly bad.

I actually think its pretty disgusting to be pushing xmas this hard, this early.

I've had QVC on in the background all day, and to be totally honest i didn't even notice the Christmas tree. Maybe it was just
for his show ????

What I'm trying to fathom is the big banner saying "Everyone's invited" across the QVC UK website. What exactly are we invited to?

It is not just QVC, I was in town here today and shops have their decorations up already!!!

Nope. Jilly Halliday has a festooned garland behind her right now, and Charlie Bore just teased the Honora TSV with another great ****** Xmas tree behind him.

This is how it's going to be for over 2months now.

Halliday just said "it seems to come faster every year!" Yes love because your employer keeps bringing it forward!

My huge local garden centre has turned several departments into Christmas decorations and other such Xmas tat and they don't stock what I want. Black plastic sheeting to cover my allotment with. The place was heaving at 11.00 on a Sunday. When I made the comment to a member of staff that I thought this was a garden centre and not a Christmas shop she shrugged and said Christmas is big business.

I'm sure QVC have started pushing Christmas earlier this year, their January return date doesn't usually come into play, along with the Christmas deccies until 25th October.

iloveshopping - i've been a victim of that too - gone into a shop for something i know they stock, only to find they don't have it cos it's been removed to make room for all the xmas tat.

i don't think qvc have started earlier this year. hating xmas the way i do, i am aware of this every year. on the plus side, they don't spin it out till mid january. almost immediately all signs of xmas are gone and the sale signs are up.

The more they shove Xmas at me the more determined I am to resist it. Get quite depressed with this obsession for buying gifts for all and sundry.

I used to love Christmas, but the constant pressure over gift buying and everything else just ruins it. A couple of years ago, I was in BHS on Christmas Eve and they were taking down Christmas and putting in all the Easter stock. It's sickening.

I know it's sales spiel, but do they - Jilly Halliday - really think that we spend £30 on items just to keep in a drawer in case we need an emergency gift or a stocking filler? As she suggested of the Sarah Chapman 'try me' kit.

Wait until Wednesday, the whole day is going to be all Christmas things, so anyone who hates Christmas
should maybe give it a miss that day

Am fed up with looking at the christmas tree behind Simon Wilson already - lordy lordy they've got a christmas surprise of a sparkly panda already. Someone tell QVC it's 23rd October PLEASE.

Rant Over....

I like Christmas but I refuse to start thinking festive until 1st December at the earliest and, judging by the previews of the beauty TSVs, I doubt I'll be making any purchases from QVC, for my present drawer or otherwise. They do seem to be pushing it a lot earlier this year - the clocks haven't even gone back yet! However, it's not just Q - I was buying a few things in M&S over a week ago and the assistant went to put them in a Christmas bag. I refused and told her I wanted a normal one or they could forget about the sale. I also noticed Asda had their loo roles in Christmassy wrapping at the weekend - loo roles I ask you!

Totally agree and cannot stand to watch at the moment for that reason. We haven't even put the clocks back yet. As BB says, not even Halloween yet. There's also bonfire night still to come - can you please stop wishing our lives away QVC. Most importantly, however, we still have Remembrance Sunday to come. Will QVC have their tree up on that day? Seems incongruous to me, not to mention disrespectful. They also cynically whip the decorations away with obscene haste after Christmas. If I remember correctly they were down last Christmas before the year was out.
