New Presenter: Alex Kramer

just saw this in Julia's Blog

"we are welcoming a new face to our presenter team next week. Alex Kramer will help out with all the extra live hours we have lined up on our additional QVC channels – three hours live every weekday from 4pm, so do tune in and say hello.

The did have a trail yesterday on Julia's fashion on Friday. Young, slim, blonde hair. I had the TV on mute so didn't hear what she sounds like.

Not blonde here, but I believe this is her:

It looks like she has done various presenting jobs on tv, including fronting some of those awful, awful overnight rip-off 09 number phone-in game shows. I hope she's improved since. I can't post YouTube links but google "Alex Kramer QuizCall" for an example (if you can bear it).

Oh and she's also been a reporter in a tv documentary series called "The Bullsh*t Detective" - well, she'll be kept busy at QVC!

Sorry, I should give her chance really!

I do hope that she isn't writing a book or promoting a business.........
Just tell us about the product and let the guests speak.

Personally I would never ever trust anyone who fronted Quizcall which was a total conn and she would have been well aware of that fact.

I know everyone needs to make a living but if you don't have any morals they we might as well all be on the streets in one form or another, or mugging old ladies.

I doubt if I will watch.

I am with you there! She's not stupid either.

I know people will think me daft in this day and age, but I make a conscious choice not to support in any way people to give their name to advertising for on line gaming or payday loans as I think these things are morally wrong and barely legal.

Sorry MF (Kipling), I know you are a jobbing model/actress but you went down in my eyes, as did Lousia Rednap. Bingo seems innocent and only a few pence until you read how often the games are played.

Payday loans are even worse and IMO shouldn't be allowed and not advertised on TV.

Not at all daft LATI, although it is extremely difficult to avoid, particularly when so much TV revenue these days comes from giving airtime to poker, roulette, ads for bingo and casinos.

Many a jobbing actor has passed through the portals of QVC. I would seriously love to know how much they are paid.

Or that she's got a member of the family about to be married or studying to become a doctor (yes, Kathy, I do mean you). Some presenters could be marketed as a cure for insomnia.

I found it hilarious that she's to be found under The Great BritishTV Presenter...... I've never heard of her ! Oh well, we all know that QVC is the elephants graveyard for presenters who cant seem to make a career elsewhere, so here's another one.

Payday loans ads get on my wick, but so do the flippin' stupid 'family' who do the over 50's life insurance ads (Male helping grandson repair his car, woman rabbiting on about how her friend wanted 'stargazer lillies' for her funeral and don't get me started on the ones where their sole aim is to get a free pen). Do hope the 'friend' managed to order the lillies before she kicked the bucket. They all make out these organisations are so friendly and folksy.....insurance companies are usually about as friendly as a cobra when you need to make a claim (and I speak as one whose OH worked in insurance)

so basically if you work the absolute gutter of television at 3am, you will eventually get on qvc.

Good to know....

So... We have QVC moving upmarket with the brands they sell (aspirational, I dare say) so an upscale department store... Yet they are recruiting presenters from the other end of the scale. Sorry if that sounds snobby.

When I look at the presenters' worsening demeanour, the dreaded stylists who have replaced many fashion guests, the doubling up of guests, the more amateurish models... I can't help seeing cost cutting. Those who don't accept lower rates get shown the door. All of it screams financial pressure, at the same time they go upmarket. Upmarket brands won't (except in beauty) allow huge volumes to devalue the brand, so QVC can't overextend on product... Might also explain the explosion in new products coming to air for the first time as advanced orders. May also explain a gap of barely 2-3 weeks since the autumn fashion shows and we now have them doing winter!

I am pretty sure I saw her reading the news on Channel 5 and she was doing a good job.
