5 hours after applying it the scent has totally disappeared. Could have happened earlier- I didnt check.

Well, OH and I are planning a day out tomorrow and with a bit of luck I will be able to add my feedback. I think I'm in for a major letdown though, reading between all the lines. It's also strange that there no reviews out there apart from a few on qvc. Nothing from the beauty industry although they were agog with anticipation and not a single one on Liz's site. Never mind, £47 isn't a giveaway price anyway.

I tried it in John Lewis today, don't like it, it smells old fasioned to me. Agree it is similar to Lou Lou, not quite as strong and a bit musty and old smelling.

Ok, I know you've all been waiting for this!! Today was the day. This fragrance is definitely not for me. The first hit is very strong and not particularly pleasant. It settles down into a deep floral but it hasn't faded on me after several hours and it just isn't pretty enough. I love my florals and my go-to fragrance is l'air du temps which is delicate but hangs around just enough. No.100 is a bull in a china shop in comparison and I totally get the reference to Cacharel.

I had a good spray of no.15, which I still like but haven't quite been persuaded to buy, then set about trying a few others in that herbal style. I really liked Elemis Exotic - similar to no.15 but with a bit more life to it. It doesn't have much staying power though and is pricey for a 28ml bottle. Very similar to that one was Jo Malone's Nutmeg and Ginger, but again not great staying power. I will treat myself to one of the three for the winter just for a change.

Great to hear your feedback BeaFrugal. I didn't mention that L'Air du Temps is one of my all-time favourites too. If you like that there is a scent from the USA which is quite inexpensive (about $15 I think) called "Windsong". There is a YouTube review where a girl compares the notes with L'Air du Temps. Windsong, as well as being cheaper, is a little spicier too- so imagine L'Air du Temps with an amber edge to it. It lasts all day, comes in a beautiful box with little colourful Finches all over it (at least I think they are finches). I love it for the box alone. I ordered it from Amazon and it was shipped to me from the USA. It's not an EDP but it may as well be considering how strong it is. It has pride of place next to my L'Air du Temps and other bottles on my dressing table.

I used to have a bottle of a perfume called Windsong, late 70's, it was by Goya, who also did Aqua Manda. Is it the same one?

Dont think so ChinaGirl the one I have is by Prince Matchabelli and I think came about in the 1950's (I may be wrong). I only heard about it because I was bored and couldn't sleep one night so was reading about perfume on my phone and stumbled upon a YouTube comparison with L'Air du Temps and Windsong. If you google both fragrance names you may hit the you tube vid I am referring to...really sorry I can't do links for some reason.

I just watched the youtube demo, Weathergirl. Absolutely fascinating and so well done. Qvc should track her down and give her a contract. It's nigh on impossible to describe a perfume and she nailed it. Windsong has quite a cult following I think because I had a look on the bay and there's a variety of empty bottles of varying vintage for sale.

I did not know that BeaFrugal. I knew it had been around for years but had no idea it was cult... as I only stumbled on it by accident. I really like it and wear it a fair bit. It is summery because it's floral but because it had a spicy edge it fits just as well as an all year round fragrance. I can honestly say it is suitable for both day and evening too. And it's cheap. And it lasts all day and beyond. A no brainer for L'Air du Temps fans really! Not many scents tick all those boxes so not surprised it has a cult following. Oh..the box is so pretty in a vintage kind of way.

there is always a perfume that smells like anather one if its a popular one. perfumes are not that easy to copy...paying £50 for an average perfume no!

Boffy is correct. Companies are in it to make money. So if certain ingredients are in and people love them, then other companies will do their own versions. Some years back a company(can't remember wasn't into them), did a honey and white musk perfume which was a big seller. Next thing loads of designer/department stores suddenly released new perfumes with these notes.

Funny thing is on the perfume boards we get lots of people asking I like X, what others should I try like X.

Oh, Caron!!!!! Well its incense and spice with some floral. On me I get a powdery rose with a hint of spice.

Have you tried Caron Pour Une Femme? Its more oriental amber(you pick it up cheaply if you hunt online). I will have a think and get back to you. Caron's tend to be pretty special.

L'Artisan Parfumeur Passage d'Enfer is incense, white musk and lilies.

Back quickly here. Have you ever tried Caron Nuit de Noel??? Now I have no idea what the current version it like? But is soft warm spicy oriental.
