Mum recently purchased a RLM Studios sterling silver ring on Bargain Hunter on interactive. It arrived today and is in a shocking condition. It really does look as though it has been worn and badly abused by someone for weeks! It's covered in scratches and scrapes and also has a couple of deep gouges in the silver top. The inside of the ring is covered in dirt and grime, which is probably the last owner's skin! Ewwwww. I complained to CS but all they can do is send a label and refund. Nothing is actually going to be done about it yet again!

We should learn our lesson though. Last time we purchased on Bargain Hunter the product was six months past its sell by date!

They need to learn to listen to their customers. But for that one I think we have a long wait unfortunately

How disgusting. What are they doing sending out sh8t like this? Does no-one check the items first. Even a quick glance would do it.

Thats just their answer for eveything though - a sorry and a pre paid label.

Yes i know thats more than some companies will give - but it doesn't stop the issues of these items being sent back out

I had exactly the same problem!

I returned the ring with this letter:

Please find enclosed a RLM Silver Ring.

I am returning it for a full refund (inc. P&P) for the following reasons:

When I received this ring, it was obvious that it had been worn and returned. (I have ordered several RLM pieces and know that, when new, they are well packaged and well protected from any damage likely to be caused whilst in transit. The silver is pristine.)

This ring was rattling around in the box with no protective tissue paper and plastic bag, and the surface of the ring is clearly scratched and damaged.

I have no problem with QVC sending out returned items of jewellery providing they are unworn or show no signs of wear and tear. This ring has undoubtedly been worn under the terms of your 30 day money back guarantee, and is therefore no longer new, and should not have been sold as such.

Please refund the full cost (inc. P&P) at your earliest convenience.

They didn't even bother to respond and I didn't get my P & P refunded either.

I think long and hard before I place any order with QVC now :(

I had ordered a ring from another chanel and sent it back as one of the stone was missing ,they did not refund my P&P back saying that there was nothing wrong ...its not only myself ,but my whole family found the stone missing ...maybe the quality control staff have to go to specsavers.....all the channels try to save their skin .

I hope you rang QVC & asked for a refund of your p&p.... I`ve done this myself, as they seem to `forget` to refund when you`ve returned a faulty item.... If you didn`t ring for a refund, make sure you do if this ever happens again...... Don`t let them get away with it :hi:

Disgusting, isnt there a body you could complain to, like Advertising Standards Authority ? I'd have thought you would have them for selling second hand jewellery. It is time QVC were being 'brought to book', as this does not seem to be an isolated case.

When I return a faulty item when I tick the refund box I write "plus my p&p!" next to it. This seems to have worked in the past although maybe they only do it when the item is obviously faulty rather than worn - although the consequence is the same, you don't want it and they shouldn't sell it as such!

Recently I sent back a La Hola necklace that should have had a large crystal heart pendant attached to it - which was missing! How they didn't notice that beggars belief!

It's stories like these that put me off ordering jewellery from QVC. If they are going to have this liberal returns policy, then they must be prepared to take the losses on the chin. If not, then they should only accept back faulty and unused items.

It simply isn't good enough to allow some customers to milk the system at the expense of other customers who pay full price to receive their shoddy, second-hand goods.

I know they must be handling a lot of goods but none the less, people are getting paid to check the stuff is ok. QVC really needs to pull it's socks up - other companies seem to do a far better job.

It wasn't until I got my credit card statement a couple of weeks later, that I realised they hadn't refunded my p&p :( I didn't call them about it, which I know is what they probably hoped would happen. I'm not sure I'd let them get away with it now though

These stories make me really cross. Surely somebody at QVC is tasked with making sure this kind of thing doesn't happen????

It does annoy me when they don't refund the p+p when it has been their error, whether from giving incorrect information on air (I ordered it based on what the presenter was saying) or that the product was faulty.
Wouldn't let them get away with it now. :cheeky:

They sell returns to the staff. I remember my sister saying you could get bottles of moulton brown for 50p a go where they had been a little used and returned.

I wonder what they do with returned earrings???:puke:

They're put in an autoclave to clean them (allegedly) and then returned out...both Claudia and Simon have said as much on air:thinking2:. Makes me think twice about ordering earrings from them now.
