Crikey! How uneven, basic these look. Both final prices! (and Ellis looking so smug and "Well done, Dave. You shouldn't have done those crazy prices". Surely, she must think it ain't right compared to what she's sold before - Tanzanite ring shystering aside!)

They look really awful quality and finishing. Perhaps Ellis needs another set of glasses she is so disgusting now!

AndyW, I thought the same. The stone in the solitaire ring looked off centre and the split sides went an awfully long way round to the back of the ring. I couldn’t see how much silver was actually holding it together or how much was in the stone setting. Thought £299 was very expensive.

The half eternity ring was okish but again very dear at £199. I know it was 3 carats but TJC have a 1.2 carat channel set one in silver with a platinum overlay for £24.99

I saw those when I did a quick price check. If you really want grandidierite, you can get a prettier, less included cab for around £25, in a wearable amount of metal.

Toby did an amber presentation earlier in the day. Didn't catch it all but saw a cross pendant, closing at £70. He showed a price comparison at £150. I did a Google Lens search on their product image, which found identical items at prices around that mark but also at £25 to £40 and, unless you were hooked on the specific design, other examples for much less too and some direct from Poland. Even notoriously expensive NotOnTheHighStreet has the same item for less.

Gem Collector had opals on again last night. They are nice (some are, some are pretty bog standard or dull - Bennett Vault or not) but their prices are either exactly at market rate or over.

No distinction any more - at least, not in a positive way - and no competitive edge.
