<img src="/images/Marlon_Brando.jpg" border="1" hspace="4" width="107" height="112" align="right" />Godfather Marlon Brando reportedly tried to land a job as a daytime TV presenter shortly before his death in a bid to boost his bank balance.<br /><br />According to the actor's former assistant, Brando contemplated selling goods on US home shopping channel QVC in 2000 - because he had only $9,000 to his name.<br /><br />And the star was so desperate to work for QVC, he allegedly held discussions with a network executive just a year before his death.<br /><br />In a new book, Brando's aide Alice Marchak writes: "Marlon was serious about QVC.
