Lynn Jinks on Thin Ice

It’s not like a little break; it’s a really bad break”.<br /><br />ShoppingTelly.com wishes Lynn a speedy recovery and we think it’s safe to say we won’t be seeing her Dancing on Ice anytime soon!

I suspect the lovely Lynn has broken her wrist which has had a plate and screws put into it, and then she probably has had another plate and screws put in further up her arm due to the 2nd break , and she also might be wearing a form of plaster cast to keep her hand and arm safe whilst it heals. I should know this being a theatre nurse!

Anyway, enough of the technical speak :mysmilie_81:, all that matters is that Lynn is now on the slow road to recovery which means she could be away from our telly screens for up-to about 2 to 3 months! :mysmilie_81: May I wish you Lynn all the best wishes and hope you get better soon so that we can all see your pretty smile (and character) :mysmilie_374: back on our TV screens!

Just seen that Lynn has broken her wrist! OH poor lady! I want to wish her a speedy recovery and hope that rodders is looking after you! I am sure he is!

OMG. That sounds awful (and I would think incredibly painful).

I know it does sound awful , but to be honest with all of you, if Lynn wants her wrist and arm back to the way they used to be, then this is the only way to do it.

Usually any plates and screws Lynn has inside her now will remain with her for the rest of her life (to support her wrist and arm). It's not as painful as you might think, as long as Lynn is given the right pain control whatever that may be (eg. paracetamol, ibuprofen etc).

She wont be in hospital for long, maybe a few days and then let home to rest and recuperate. She will be back on the telly with all of us in due course and that's what matters isn't it? i.e. seeing her fit and well again with that trademark smile and personality! :mysmilie_687:

I have received a lovely email from Lynn, I asked if I coould share with you and I am pleased to say Lynn was more than happy for me to do so.

Hi Graham

This morning when my lovely hubby brought me a cuppa in bed he told me about the news page and threads.

What a lovely kind thing for you to do. I wanted to say thank you so much to you and all the members who have written such kind and thoughtful get well wishes. I am in a cast but have to have a few more x rays before I know whether I am to have an operation or not. Fingers crossed not. So lots of rest and running my gorgeous hubby ragged I'm sure. I'm not the best patient I bore easily

I hope to be back very soon and once again thank you to you and everyone on your site, those kind words really help to keep your spirits up when the pain kicks in.

Well I (as a theatre nurse ) was mistaken having just read Lynn's nice message to everyone, I thought she had undergone surgery as someone else mentioned that the breaks to her wrist / arm were quite bad

Having read her message it sounds like the breaks were not as bad as we thought thankfully - as long as the plaster cast keeps the bones in the right place then Lynn will surely avoid surgery altogether, and that is why x rays are needed in due course just to prove that the bones have knitted together properly again. :mysmilie_696:

The hardest part for Lynn would have been in Accident and Emergency when they would have had to manipulate her wrist / arm before putting them in a plaster cast. :mysmilie_81:

Fingers and everything else crossed for you Lynn, and hopefully the x rays will give you a positive outcome. Get well soon, best wishes again. :mysmilie_687:
