Off piste a bit here, but how do other forumites feel about the BBC forever referring to................ our Ireland / Scotland / Wales / Thailand / France / etc etc Correspondent ? It gets up my nose, surely it would be grammatically correct to say ................. Our correspondent in Ireland / Scotland etc etc

One that annoys me is when a presenter says "I've been John Smith" at the end of the programme. Surely he hasn't stopped being John Smith because it is the end of the programme - he will always be John Smith. It would be better if he said "This has been John Smith".:taphead:
