Lost Parcels

Apologies if this has already been discussed previously. i was watching Joe Lycette’s consummer affairs programme last night and they said that Hermes can auction off stock that they can’t deliver or return to sender. Then showed huge lorries arriving an auction house full of parcels that Hermes couldn’t deliver but when they investigated and looked at the parcels so very many of them still had names and addresses of either the sender, recipient or both. What a scam something they should be prosecuted for really. It came to light because the seller noticed something they shipped on an eBay selling site and the seller had displayed the invoice as a means of showing it’s original value.

Appalling. I do a fair amount of online shopping & have obviously been very lucky because I've never had an issue with any courier. Our Hermes man is fantastic but the whole outfit sounds really dodgy - I wonder if the powers that be at the Q will reconsider their relationship with Hermes.

What would worry me is that if they are unopened your personal details and possibly bank details (or enough for scammers to work on) are still there.

So far for a number of years, my Hermes drivers have been fab.

DPD great for a while then last delivery said left at my back door. I don't have a back door! Got my parcel by putting up on a local neighbourhood group asking if it had been delivered to you can you please bring it to me? Which it was left at my door but they had opened it across the bottom of the parcel but didn't take anything.

Over the past few weeks our cul de sac is like a Eddie Stobarts yard as there is a constant stream of white vans delivering.
