How strange you should mention that Carol, my sister just loves Terry's orange chocolate cream, they come as twin bar in plain chocolate. I always take her some kind of orange treat when I visit, the local shop I could get the Terry bars from no longer stocks them. I usually look online for something now.

I'm amazed Thornton's don't do a just orange cream selection, they are popular. Prefer Fry's Chocolate Cream myself!

Didn't there use to be a milk tray bar with different centres or something similar? - or is that what the Five Boys was?

Now then..! The Terry's is just chocolate, as was the Needlers..the Fry's now is orange cream and they do mint cream as well as the ordinary Fry's choc cream...but aren't they a price! Used to be a tanner back in the day! There was the Fry's Five Centre which I think is what you mean - loved that too!

Its weird, there was another thread that started out about something , cant remember what, and it turned into a thread
about different foods in parts of the country, and now this one started out about Lily O'Brien and now gone onto different
types of chocolate. We all seem to have a tendency to talk about food and chocolate. wonder why LOL ????

Can I point you both over to The Drop where I've started a Down Memory Lane thread..please do join in!

fry's choklit cream was always my fav - and the five centre one was heaven!

are the terry's orange bars like the orange cream in black magic? my fav - never seen the bars. love orange cream in plain chok, hate it in milk.

whoever mentioned the hershey bar, i'm amazed you liked it. they introduced hersheys to my local asda about a year ago with lots of tastings and special offers. it doesn't shift which doesn't surprise me because most american choklit is like axle grease.

Not had any recently but the Lily O'B chocs I had were lovely. Lindor is my favourite. There is not much I wont eat in the choc line, but Hershey's is one.

Aldi & Lidl do high cocoa content chocolate at a reasonable price.

Years ago when my boss was going to America I asked him to bring me back a Hershey Bar - it was HORRIBLE!

The Fry's orange when I tried a bar was a bit runny, unlike the Fry's choc cream, which is solid - mmm..I THINK it's dark choc but don't kill me if you try one and it's milk..!

I didn't rate Hersheys either. In fact, there is still half a bag of kisses in the cupboard, been there for months - unheard of!!

Ooh I do love Reese's peanut cups. Chocolate and peanut butter - does life get much better?! ;)

Think those peanut butter things are Julia's favourite, so you've
something in common with her LOL

Really?! Ah, so that's the shortness, the bust, the used to be almost identical hair (until I bobbed it) and now peanut cups - we could be mother and daughter!!!! :p

I think that's where the similarities end though ;)

i find those a bit sickly. they do some bars that have other ingredients and are chewy that i like and the little minis like m&m's but the big cups are a bit much for me. was surprised to see they've started selling bags of mini cups here now (not m&m sized) most brits don't get the chok/PB connection. i had a bag of hersheys minis that i actually thought were off. the smell was bad enough. i don't think they were, just hershey chok is so awful. i choked down the nutty ones ;) threw out the rest.

where's our resident yank? can't remember the name but not here to defend the chok. lol!

I'd not eaten Hershey chocolate before and only bought it because it was crammed full of nuts - it was delicious!!

I think Wild Rose is American, apologies if I'm wrong.

was that mr goodbar? yellow wrapper. will concede that is quite good - i think because the nuts disguise the taste of the chok ;)

Years ago in Canada, favourite ChocolateVarietyBox was "Smiles'n'Chuckles." How's that for a name? CoffeeCrisp chocolate bar only available in Canada - coffee layers, wafers, chocolate - in case you get CarePackages from relatives, or are visiting, mmm. I agree about Hershey's, Boo! Reece'sPeanutButterCups, Yea!

I make my own version of these, recipe courtesy of Nigella  and it means you can use whatever chocolate you love instead of the naff American stuff

If you like Lindor give the ALDI Moser Roth truffles a try, only £1.69 a box. Tried them today and very nice.
