In the 1970's I did a Saturday stint in a local hardware shop, so got a discount on what I purchased. This came in handy when 'collecting stuff' for my bottom drawer (for younger posters, just Google it). 40 years later I still use a large Prestige saucepan for large quantities of spuds, and a Pyrex dish and bowl with the 'vegetable' pattern - ideal sizes for my stuffing, and home made gravy. I even have a small clearblue Pyrex frying pan with metal handle that my Mum had back in the 50's. Not going in my Will, but too good to bequeath to the charity shops.
