Is this likely to be the heated airer? I was thinking of getting one this year but am not sure if I should buy from Lakeland direct or via QVC...do QVC get a better deal?

It’s not always a better deal from QVC, QVC also charge postage but the item is sent direct from Lakeland who don’t charge postage over £45. The good thing about Lakeland is their amazing after sales service and guarantee, so might not work out being such a good deal buying from QVC in the long run if your product breaks.

I wouldn't mind a heated airer as we've no room for a tumble drier and the "clothes horse" we have is unheated but takes up the same space as a heated airer would but be up for less time. Our small livingroom looks like a Chinese laundry in the winter.

Totally agree Shopper, I would go direct every time. A poor review always gets a response on line and a personal investigation into your complaint. Q just reject them or even worse ignore them and you have to fight tooth and nail just to get your refund. AND you won’t get someone’s dirty returns.

Do Lakeland have offers on the airers at some point do you know because they are quite expensive?

Have you considered getting a dehumidifier with a laundry dry setting. Bung it on overnight and it’ll all be dry (or near enough) by morning.
We also live in a small flat with no outdoor space for drying.
Originally bought a dehumidifier to help with the condensation.
Wouldn’t be without one now. And by taking the damp out of the air means we rarely put on the heating.

We bought ages ago the Eccoegg winged electric heated airer when it first featured on Q. So when our daughter ended up in a house at Uni they were selling them for about £20? at the Q outlet, so got her one. Now she’s come back home then left for a house share in London we have ended up with both.
They have sold them in Aldi, Amazon and now Argos have them.
I also now see Argos have a Lakeland Dry Soon Upright style one and is much cheaper in price.
I don’t know how this one compares to the Lakeland ones in size, features and cost to run.

Thanks Madaunty, I will definitely give that a try.

We have one too this is our second one. Ours has timer facility on it too.

I have never heard of this!!!!! It sounds like a brilliant idea. Now two questions.

1. Do you keep the window open or shut whilst running it? Cos I dry my laundry in a spare room on an airer with the window open.

2. I see you can get them from Amazon around £120-£150. Is this a good price? Some are dearer so wouldn't know which is the better buy really. But I think I might have a splurge! (With all the crutches, frame, elevated chair, there won't be room to move here soon.)

Our first one lasted about 10years and only needed replacing because I managed to knock off the little thingy that told it when to switch off because tank was full.
We now have two. One with the laundry setting which we keep in the spare room.
And another with a humidity setting which kicks in when it reaches a certain point. That’s kept in the hall and I stick it at the entrance to the bathroom when we’ve showered etc.

Window shut, or it’ll be trying to suck the moisture from the world.🙃

Think we paid about £150 for ours. We have De’longhi ones.
And another thing to remember is to clean the filter regularly.

Thanks for info. I thought the window question was probably idiotic but couldn't be bothered to edit!

I've had a dehumidifier for about 25 years when they were rare and very expensive.

These days, I only use it in the bathroom if it is particularly steamy. It has to be plugged in outside, of course.

I bought an electric clothes airer from Aldi a few years back for £30 with a three year guarantee and near enough to the day, three years later, it broke. rang Aldi and they gave me a code to take to my nearest store, along with the broken airer, for my money back, no questions asked.

Trouble with these airers is, I find, you have to constantly turn the clothes around because it only dries were it touches.

I wondered about that but now you’ve solved it!
