Yet again! These must be good sellers but the reviews give a different story.Do people fail to return or are the glowing reviews not written for some reason?

I know that I am 'barking' up the wrong tree, but I do sometimes wonder whether QVC have a special 'hold' over some brands LAB, The Real Pie Company (who have had a little 'tricky patch' of late), Ultrasun, et al so that they can have as many TSV's as possible, but with somehow QVC (maybe getting a 'slice') holding the 'Ace' card (sorry for obvious reasons don't like use the actual 'phraseword', think America).

Any case, with regards to the 'LAB girls' they seem to bringing something 'new and innovotive' every time they come to air, but as others have stated the reviews are nowhere near what is portrayed (even outside of QVC land). No, I am of the opinion that there is some 'special hold'!

LAB need to correct the issues with many of their gadgets, that have been highlighted in the reviews on QVC, before they bring yet another one to air (unless this TSV turns out to be a re-vamped model of a previous one.)

They seem to be churning their inventions out without checking that they do actually do what is says on the tin. e.g. tonnes of dead skin allegedly produced when using that microdermabrasion thing. I bought it, and returned it, because I, like dozens of other customers, had no skin on the filter after use. It was odd therefore that the models were shedding skin cells in small heaps when demonstrating it on air.

I reckon they have James Bond's "Q" hidden away in the bowels of QVC HQ churning out all sorts of inventions for tsv fodder.

The sceptic in me wonders how a couple of girls under 30 have the knowledge, nous and backing to invent and manufacture these innovative products.

Looking on their website in front of a huge mansion where they live (?) there is a lot of psychobabble talk, and checking on Companies House, there is only one officer listed - who was previously a Vlogger !!!!

Me suspicious ? hmmmmmmm.

This isn't their company - after googling their names I have found that they have 2 companies - one called SCI CHECK LTD described by Companies House as 'wholesale perfume & cosmetics' and CURLY FLEX DIRECT LTD described as 'Non-specialised wholesale trade' both were founded in 2009

So they were directors of 2 companies before they graduated and starting inventing? Something doesn't add up.

They're back again!

The LAB girls are back with another TSV for Sunday. :mysmilie_11: They must spend their time 24/7 inventing these contraptions. In my opinion, they should spend their time improving their previous ones which have got such bad reviews in the past.

This time it's a gadget for the body, with apparenly produces instant results which will no doubt be unbelievable, just like all their other things. Do I sound sceptical? I can't imagine why apart from the fact I did fall for their hype once and ordered the microdermabrasion thing. It was spectacular, in the fail department, and did nothing so it went straight back. My one star review was one of dozens.

Also, with the regularity that they reappear, QVC is turning into the Marla Wynne/LAB channel (in my opinion.)

And will I be buying their latest gadget? Absolutely not!

Yes, I mean I know they are 'Oxford graduates' (or if you didn't then you just need to listen to their intro each and every time), but, yes they may know the science and I am not 'knocking them' with regards to the theory, but as posted oh so 'eloquently' by @brissles, it seems that there is not always the 'polished product', out of the textbook. I mean, everyone could probably in their 'minds eye', develop the most wonderful of products but in 'actuality' it may not always work, as (unfortunately) too many of these products seem to indicate, just (always) slightly 'missing the mark'!

Totally agree, but they must be awfully good at giving marketing presentations to their 'backers', because how could they possibly afford to pay the technical and developing staff for the 'science' bits, and then there is the cost of manufacturing ! All of which must run into tens of thousands pounds.

Perhaps as we speak they are currently developing the next 'innovative' bit of kit, ready for the tsv in time for the Christmas market. You heard it here first.

The companies they are directors of are ‘part of the Rigby Group’ which is one of Britain’s biggest privately owned companies with annual turnovers in the millions/billions.

Their surname is Rigby so I reckon they just come from a mega rich family who manage all the costs/research etc and it wouldn’t be a catastrophe if their products failed to sell, probably set up companies for them to give them something to do when they left Uni :smirk:

And this explains why they live in a mansion!
