It's on my list Lynn but I'm not starting anything new yet because the new season of The Lincoln Lawyer is dropping on Netflix tomorrow so I'm holding out for that.
The whole of my team watches it so we've all made a pact to watch all episodes between tomorrow and next Tuesday so that we can discuss it without having to worry about giving away any spoilers. 😂😂
Oh, I love Michael Connelly books. I don't have Netflix so haven't seen The Lincoln Lawyer. Have read them though. I enjoyed Bosch and Bosch Legacy, even though it is coming to an end. Strangely, I gave up on Renee Ballard by Michael Connelly. Just thought she was dull.

Isn't the Lincoln lawyer Harry Bosch's brother with a different mother? I've read the books.
Yes, I believe he is but I'm not sure that it's ever been mentioned in the TV shows because I really, really wanted to love Bosch as much as I do LL but I don't. I've tried three times to watch it but there's just something that doesn't click with me unfortunately so I've realised that it just isn't for me.

I have read all the Bosch novels. Over the years, he's changed, of course, but I prefer how the author portrayed him in the earlier novels.

We`ve been enjoying The Penguin which is a HBO production for Sky or Now TV. It isn`t anything like the Batman movie Penguin character. It`s more his back story and his life before becoming an arch criminal in Gotham City. It`s dark and violent but Colin Farrell plays a fantastic part and the makeup and wardrobe is amazing.

I love the sparkle of diamonds - I'm a right magpie. Modern cuts sparkle like mad but give me an antique cut over them any day.

Mine's an OEC (Old European Cut) that was bought from an antique shop at less than half the price of a new version. The cut is chunkier so I get massive flashes of colour from it.

I also have an heirloom Old Mine Cut that's even chunkier but as a candlelight cut diamond, it's not as symmetrical as my OEC. If I was in the market for another diamond I'd consider an August Vintage round. Though the large centre cuts in the AV cushion cuts are gorgeous.

I'd never buy new again but I'd consider lab grown if they did an old cut.

Goodoldgold.com and jewelsbygrace.com are two of my favourite old cut porn sites.

My fiancee and I spent ages looking for her engagement ring, visiting shops in Cardiff, Swansea, Bristol etc, as she was very fussy about what she wanted.

We both chose a crossover 2 stone ring, one stone a largish looking diamond, the other a same size sapphire, a fairly light blue so it really sparkled. An 18ct gold band with a platinum setting.

I remember how much I paid for it MANY years ago, so used an inflation calculator to see how much the equivalent would be today. It would be about £700, would this be the sort of price people would pay today for an engagement ring?

BTW she has given it to my daughter.
You should post a pic on Pricescope.com especially if it's an antique ring (it sounds like a toi et moi ring to me).

Out of curiosity, where did you get it? I found a lovely antique Jewellry shop in Cardiff yards away from another with a great second-hand section. Most of the other Jewellry shops are chains these days so don't stock my kind of thing.

I know for years on this forum we have dissed diamonique but so many of us own it for many years, still wear and enjoy.

Some months back I bought a silver diamonique ring on offer, it was £16+ it sparkling like mad. I swear I could stand outside the high-end jewellers in city centre and my ring would look as good as their ££££s diamond rings.
I've got a simple 1 carat equivalent diamonique solitaire stone set in sterling silver that I've worn a lot - it was in a QVC sale years ago and cost about £12.00 plus postage. I used to say I wouldn't buy diamonique or Swarovski stones in jewellery, but over the years I have succumbed to a couple of silver set pieces of both. I was pleasantly surprised, and you're right, they really do sparkle like the real thing.

I have a niece who collects Swarovski, and about eight years ago TJC had a heart-shaped sterling silver pendant with pink Swarovski stones that I bought for her. So pretty, and although I can't remember what I paid, I know it was less than £15. My niece has worn it with many different silver chains over the years and the pendant's still going strong. Like Gemporia's products, the quality of the jewellery was much better back then.

Talking of diamonds is any one watching Joan on tv🙂
Yes, i have seen it all. Very good series but I'm a bit biased when it comes to anything Frank Dillane is in, ever since I saw him in the first 3 seasons of 'Fear The Walking Dead'
There is a lot of interesting facts about how the real life Joan learnt about gemstones and jewellery.

My daughter has just got engaged and her ring cost £1100, which from what I can gather is pretty average, certainly not expensive compared to some I know.

Yes I’m really enjoying it ,well acted.🙂
Love Frank Dillane, have been a fan since his Fear The Walking Dead days. Love Sophie Turner too.

Bit of an update on my original post at the start. I had the diamond earrings in my ears for a few days when I noticed that they had sent me two different sizes. I should have received two twenty five point studs but only one was correctly sized, the other was fifteen points. I sent them back and received a full refund. I then found an online company and bought a pair of 50 point studs ,one carat tw for £269 which are perfect and also £71 cheaper than the other ones. Well I’m very happy with them.

I fancy getting a ring with lab grown diamonds but the ones on QVC if you look at the colour they are around H, my engagement ring is a natural diamond and the colour is G, better. You would think for lab grown diamonds the colour would be higher for the price
