i hope Julia was informed by a higher up employee this kind of comment is inappropriate and really what is she doing making comments about childrens names?? just tell us about the bags, you are a sales assistant, if the ladies in Boots or John Lewis made comments like that i'm sure they would be severely reprimanded. Children's names are so personal - my eldest is named after my grandmother and i would have been mortified if someone ridiculed her name , especially when they are new, new mums are a bit vulnerable about things like that i think

I watched the clip of this & was quite shocked I have to say. I would think that something will be said to her as it was totally irrelevant to what she is paid to do. You are there to demonstrate Julia ( I agree with the glorified sales assistant comment ) not to pass personal self opinionated comments.

I wopnder if the parents will complain. I would if it was my baby.

Pretty name incidentally.

Couldn't believe my ears when she was on with DB and she said she couldn't try the coat on ''because it's a medium'' WHAT???? How much weight does she think she's lost................

I saw DB with her a few weeks ago and as she slipped into a small, Basso, smooth as you like, eyed the camera and growled 'you might even take an XS now.' I had to laugh. Seems they've all got her number. Of course no-one chose that moment to mention that his sizes are very generous. I think the irony was lost on her.

:giggle::rolleyes:

Unbelievable isn't she! I don't know who she is trying to kid.................................herself?

Further to my previous comment. Julia also comes across as someone who can dish out sarcasm, but certainly CANNOT take it. If ever a guest has said something she didn't like, she has immediately let down her guard and taken the bait.

that clip has just made Marie F go up in my book - how professional of her just to give a small smile and carry on - when inside she was probably mortified.

Ive just watched this for the first time too (thanks for the link!) and am appalled.
The eyebrows-raised-straight-to-camera-look made her wholly inappropriate comments ten times worse, and I do think she ought to be pulled up about it.
And as for the fact that children can be cruel etc etc - we all are well aware that children can be cruel and make fun of other children for whatever reason. The point is though that they are children and we would hope they grow up to learn that such behaviour is wrong. JR isn't a child and so SHOULD know better. And she certainly shouldnt be doing it on the telly.

Seems to me that JR just loves to put other people down over anything - their names, their shoe size etc. She is fixated with being a size small, though it doesn't matter to anyone other than her.
She consistently makes unkind, cutting comment to others - something which none of the other presenters do. She makes herself feel better by putting others down.
Why can't she relax, accept herself as she is, enjoy her good fortune, good health, healthy family, good looks etc do her job professionally, be curtious with her colleagues and be grateful that she has a well-paid job in a hard times. She would be so much happier.
And so would we.

I think she doesn't really enjoy having a guest who's younger ,prettier and much more pleasant. No room for anyone else in the limelight.

I agree that I think she has a problem over her size / weight. NO WAY do I believe she is a small. Not with those two large protusions on her chest.

Well good luck to her. She may have lost it but can she keep it off ? Thats the hard part.

I love the Kipling lady and can never understand why she sometines gets a bad press on here. She's very sweet and does a good job.........oh and La Roberts..............get yer hair cut, you're way too old for that out of condition mane:giggle:

ps Luna is a character in Harry Potter.:bandit:

that was a bit nasty wasn't it. even if you are thinking it you don't say it, especially not on TV
Luna is by no means the worst name I have ever heard a parent give their child. I think Lucifer ( a baby I met recently) probably takes the biscuit.

She's just been on fashion hour all 5ft 5ins of her and asked a member of the floor crew how tall she was. "5ft 3" came back the quiet reply. "That tall?" said Julia and laughted heartily with the guest.
She then asked people not to call in and complain as it was all in fun and made the 5ft 3incher agree.
Perhaps she got some calls about her reaction to the baby's name yesterday? Either way it smacks of playground bullying.

I so hope the parents are thinking of his career as an archangel rather than the fallen one. Even I would have to ask why they chose that name and I just let things like that slide usually.

I think the comment was made because the baby's surname is Landing. :giggle:

Seriously, I think Luna is a nice name. Now if it was 'Apple' then I could understand the comments.

I ran a Playcentre a long time ago and there was a child there called Elvis, mum was Elvis obsessed and wore 50's style clothes all the time . I never ever ever made a negative comment about a child's name no matter what I might be thinking.

Well I'm not going to take the pi$$ out of Buddy Bear either.... :bear::smirk:

I really can't bear to watch her any more. She isn't funny or being "honest" she is just a nasty, condescending person who has to make other people feel small to make herself feel superior.

As I've said before all she is is a glorified shop assistant - and not always a very good one!!

It's ironic really as she's always telling us she's small.

It looks like she thinks she's bomb-proof and can say whatever she wants and get away with it. Maybe one day someone will be "honest" about her to her face.

That I would love to see.
