Hallmarking

Steve has drawn our attention to the fact that the government is seeking to tamper with the hallmarking laws, possibly removing them altogether. I have chosen to post here as I, for once, am in complete agreement with Steve who has brought the matter to our attention. I will also post in "The Drop" for non Gems forum readers and because this will not only affect jewellery, but any items bought in gold and silver. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Keeping the UK Hallmark?

Apparently there is to be a decision made by the Government whether to keep or scrap Hallmarking
of precious metals in this country and comments are invited to be posted on the website in the link....

Steve Bennett has made a Youtube video passionately pleading for the Hallmark to be retained as it is
the oldest form of consumer protection and benefits us all, and where he highlights the importance of
registering an opinion on this matter.
