This is a bit of a long shot but last week on the above show good old Mary Berry made a french cake made with sponge, creme patiserie and a marzipan top that had strawberies around the sides.

I would like to make this and cant find the recipie on their website. Does anyone know what this cake was so I can look for it.

Ta much

I watched it but didn't record it and can't recall exact name; sorry! Looks like they haven't updated the website yet. Have you tried i-Player?

I drooled over that cake, too. Just let me know when it's ready, Yorko, and I'll pop round and put the kettle on.

I wondered if the name 'Fraisier' was originally 'fraise', because of the strawberries? We Brits have a long history of nicking perfectly good names from other languages and mangling them!

That looks amazing but I agree getting identical strawberries, and cutting the sponge accurately, might be a challenge to me.
Could you post a photograph and tell us how you get on - or post us all a slice!!!!!!
