The latest round of MPs' expenses revelations includes the fact that James Arbuthnot claimed for three garlic peelers purchased from QVC. I hope he took off the p & p discount for buying more than one of the same item, unless they were different colours.
 
the peeler will be on easy pay for the MP's. Easy because they won't be paying, it'll be down to the taxpayers.
 
3 Garlic Peelers - one for each home I presume? Or 1 each for his home in his constituency and in London and the third for his over worked third world nanny/cook/cleaner who it's just been discovered is over here without a visa, and he didn't know - but it's ok, he'll pay the money back for the garlic peelers in installments...:D
 
I just question the necessity of a garlic peeler. I mean having a new bell in your estate's bell-tower is totally understandable but a garlic peeler - I wonder if QVC have one coming up on a TSV?
 
I laughed to myself at this, QVC getting a mention on the BBC news, was hoping they'd name check em on Question Time too. It is so funny, maybe the presenters will start saying " and if you are in the House of Commons just ignore that division bell and jump to the phones instead"

Also just heard on Radio 5 Live that a woman MP has bought 3 digital radios for her 2nd home - I wonder if they are BOSE ?:confused:
 
i guess it's too late for QVC to start a range of moat cleaning kits, now that they've all been rumbled. Can't you just see them demonstrating it in the QVC garden? too late as well for "In your second home" interiors show.......

Someone's just rung into a radio station I'm listening to and wanted to know why a defence minister is watching shows about garlic peelers on QVC.....
