WOW thank you Queen Bee! I've got a 2ml tube I haven't opened yet but when I'm out I will ask you for the stockist details if that's ok x.

Actually I'm not entirely surprised that it has a hefty mark up, (I didn't think it was that much tho)! I hunted around & got the equivalent discount compared to usual prices on Decleor.

we buy from Med Fx however you have to have an account to order from them and you need to be a Dr/Dentist/Nurse to get an account with them.

I'm happy to order some for anyone that wants it but will need to check the prices obviously before ordering. I can't believe the mark up on it. I just hope that Med FX keep supplying us and it wasn't just a christmas one off however I know they sold loads.

I keep getting comments on my eyelashes from patients and have said that we'll maybe order some in to see how it sells in the surgery.

That's very kind of you QB thank you. I would make sure you received the payment before you ordered of course x.
Makes me wonder how much QVC made on it yesterday! A LOT!!

Gosh, QueenBee, I think you're going to be inundated! What a very kind offer.

Something to think about ladies.

Q: I have very sparse eyelashes. A friend recommended a cosmetic eyelash growth enhancer, which is available over the counter. It works, but it has made my eyelids extremely red and they look horrible. What should I do?
A: First, with my Beauty Bible hat on, I can report that our panel of independent testers trialled the same product (for legal reasons we can’t name it, so let’s call it ‘Eye Lash’) which you apply to the base of your lashes.

Five out of ten had such marked sensitivity reactions to it that we discontinued the trial. I started researching and alarm bells began to ring.

Although these topical cosmetic products are widely available, the key ingredient in several eyelash growth enhancers is a molecule used in glaucoma drugs. Known as prostaglandin analog, it reduces pressure in the eye and is also recognised as helping eyelash growth but only while you use the product.

With glaucoma, doctors have to balance the risk-to-benefit ratio as there are known side effects, which may affect some people, according to consultant ophthalmologist Professor Charles Clark.

Patient information for Lumigan, a glaucoma drug that contains a prostaglandin analog called bimatoprost, warns patients of redness, swelling, itching or pain in or around the eye, also oozing or discharge, increased sensitivity to light, and vision changes.

Less serious side effects include mild eye discomfort, dizziness, the feeling of something in your eye, dry or watery eyes, stinging or burning after using the drops. Eyes may also change colour, not always evenly. There may also be uneven loss of supporting fat around the eye.

These side effects may also occur in low ‘cosmetic’ doses of bimatoprost. In 2007, the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates drugs, recalled another over-the-counter eyelash growth enhancer because it ‘may cause adverse effects in certain people due to the [low-dose] bimatoprost, including macular edema (swelling of the retina) and uveitis (inflammation in the eye), which may lead to decreased vision’.

The FDA has, however, approved a bimatoprost ophthalmic solution called Latisse, which is available on prescription for hypotrichosis (eyelash deficiency) in the US. As it’s a prescription product, patients will be monitored.

In the UK, all eyelash growth enhancers are currently classified as cosmetics. This means they don’t need regulatory approval and are available over the counter. However, the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency is now reassessing the status of ‘Eye Lash’, which contains a similar active ingredient to bimatoprost. Following a legal judgment in California, ‘Eye Lash’ has been ruled a drug, and the company has suspended sales there.

Professor Clark advises caution: ‘These products may have significant side effects. It would be safer if they were
used under medical supervision.’

The product is, I believe, RapidLash. There is an FDA investigastion into Rapidlash

http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/ucm251951.htm

Revitalash used to include a prostaglandin similar to Latisse, which is why it used to be prescription only. It now no longer does. As I said in my previous post on this, I had researched this before starting on the serum and did know that irritation could be a side effect. However, I still wanted to try it, and I can use Revitalash without any adverse side effects.

Yes I read that too. Revitalash used to contain the drug but changed it's formula, (hence it's name changed to include "advanced"). Makeupalley.com has a lot of reviews from the USA & it's all documented there. I believe there may be another brand that is on sale over here with very limited distruibution that also used to use the contraversial drug in their product as people complained of changing eye colour YIKES!

I can't believe the price of this TSV with P&P it's the best part of £100. I think you would have to be mad to spend that amount of money on something that looks trashy to me. It's obviously aimed at the very gullible section of shoppers who believe all this beauty guff they spout about. If you've got this sort of money to squander please give it to charity don't line the pockets of so called beauty companies.
Errr FYI I use revitalash and I'm not "very gullible"!! It's amazing how you know about the purchasers of this product, unfortunately your inside info isn't exactly on point. The product actually works btw & not only do I give money to charity I have procatively successfully campaigned for what I believe in as I believe what you do for charity isn't necessarily about just giving money in appropriate instances.

I don't think anyone has the right to tell someone not to buy a product and that they should give to charity instead.

Yes, Revitalash is expensive, but it definitely works. Even if one eye does not always match the other!

It's your money, spend it how you want to.

Do you put it on the same eye first Weathergirl. I had the same problem at first now I alternate which eye I do first each time. I think it is because there is more on the brush when it first comes out of the tube so you will be putting more on the eye you do first.

I thought that too, until I realised that I was putting it on the eye that seemed to have shorter lashes first!
It's not really that noticeable and it may be more down to my sleeping on that side predominantly.

Talking of Revitalash when it was on the other day. On the Q FB page quite a few saying because of the newspaper article they had sent it back. Worried about using it now it seems.

I read a bit of the unrest Donna but I must admit I`ve never hankered to use Revitalash so it didn`t really grab my attention. For those who read it at least it now gives them informed choices whether to use it or not so information is knowledge when it comes to such things.

I am still undecided on revitalash. I have long lashes anyway and bought it to try to stall the effects of getting older on my lashes. Think it works, and lasts for a long time. My manager told me my lashes were amazing after 6 years of working with her! Puzzled, is it Revitalash or Mally mascara?
