Emerald with window?

Hi all

I just tuned into R&C and the ring below was being aired. Again the start price was silly £30k The ring was eventually sold for £2,999! It was a 3ct emerald ring with diamonds.

I own a columbian emerald (not as big) and when I look into my emerald I see green. The ring below has a big browny coloured hole. Is this an example of a window?

I'm pretty sure that's not a window. It looks like a badly cut gemstone. It's difficult to tell from the screen dumps though. What IS clear is that the extinction in that gem is horrible and that's the only thing you notice.

I agree, it's ugly, I took a few pictures becuase I have never seen an emerald with a big dark patch before.
