I thought Dyson had the patent for a bladeless fan but I swear I saw one in Lidl or Aldi a couple of weeks ago for maybe 30 or 40 quid!

I've seen them much cheaper than this. You can get a fan pretty cheap but I think this one heats and cools. If I've got a spare £270 I'm actually not going to buy this. I'm going to go to Glasgow on a short break - which is what I'm booked on next week

Our local Lidl has loads of them in the middle isle this week. Don’t know if they blow hot and cold though. I have the Dyson one, bought a couple of years ago when it was a TSV. and find it quite useful. We also have an old blow heater which finally burnt out ( blowing all the fuses!) a couple of days ago, so I might go and have a look at the Lidl ones tomorrow.

The next Dyson will be that V11 that they had four months ago! It only appeared today on the Dyson section.

I still struggle to get my head around why these vacuums need to be so expensive though

He also moved all of his production out to the Far East for extra cost savings

My old Dyson DC15 Animal - before the ball - is still going strong. I had a new replacement motor put in it and it cost £65.00.

These new ones are not as good. They are expensive and their competitor Shark is a cheaper imitation - my neighbour bought her Shark from QVC tried it and then sent it back.

I saw Debbie Flint on the other day with the Shark it wasn’t even picking up on a crevice and DF took the Shark and quickly went over that area again. That was enough to put me off even thinking of getting one!

I had a cordless Dyson cleaner and it was the worst thing I ever bought at over £300. Useless on dog hair even though it was a pet model and vastly over priced. Demo'ing a pet vacuum cleaner should involve a carpet covered in white dog hair and see how they get on with that.

If I recall correctly the BA - Steve - works full time now for Dyson. He used to be a police officer. I recall him saying this when he first started out as the part-time BA.

I love Shark vacuums. The first one I got from Q, years ago (probably the first TSV they did). Cost less than £70, was corded and absolutely brilliant at picking up. Passed it on to my niece about 3 years ago when I upgraded. Last I heard it was still going strong.
Currently have 2 of the fold down ones, one corded and one cordless. The only annoying thing about both of them is that when I disconnect the main “hose” to use in the hand held mode with an attachment on, the change in tone sends the dog nuts and she will try and attack it. And I can’t really blame Shark for that.
