I cant be the only one thats noticed more and more 'shows' are now running over a 2-day period. In the past it was Kim & Co that warranted 9 hours over 2 days, (I see she's been upped to 3 days)but now its Mally, Nina Leonard, Dennis Basso and others that are having doubling up sessions. This was unheard of in the days when Q had an abundance of different products to offer, and was therefore more interesting to watch as a result.

Is this a sign that fewer vendors are willing to be endorsed on qvc ? I know my expenditure in the last 12 months has been nowhere near what I've spent in the previous years, but its all to the benefit of my bank account, - I mean, how many Yankee Candles, pieces of Lola Rose, bedding or cooking equipment do we need ? There is simply nothing new to make me even watch anymore, and I certainly don't feel "comfortable" with many of the new presenters. Whereas in years gone by I had Qvc on for most of the day for company and background noise, they are lucky if I switch on more than a couple of times a week now.

Ok there will always be potential new customers, but with the continual plugging of the same old same old, the new customers will be a rarity, and the old established 'big' spenders long since deserted.

I agree entirely, I used to watch so much QVC if there was not much on the Tv, but every time I turn over now it seems to be the same old items they are selling, I remember waiting up for tsvs to see what they were in case they sold out, little chance of that now, and its all so boring, still as you say it's doing my bank balance the world of good and I really don't need half the stuff I have bought from them, they certainly need to up their game x

Yes sadly QVC is no longer hitting the mark. Shows are being repeated several times a week, and the number of 'outlet' shows must be at an all time high. Give it a couple of months and we will be getting Richard Jackson in our face for breakfast, dinner and tea to fill up the hours !

Jewellery used to be their No.1 big seller, whether it was gold/silver or costume, but we dont even get the variety of costume jewellery as we once did. Lola Rose and Veronese and thats about it.

It has always been the case that brands from US, Canada etc....do shows over two days!

I thinks its because QVC are OBSESSED with guests!!!

Back in the good old days, you may have got a guest here and there or even 2 presenters on "special" days such as gold day etc....now its rare to find a show that doesn't have a guest! Even if they're just a wannabe and nothing to do with the brand or company! And blow me,if that wannabe can't do that show.................they dig up another!!!!!!

I think the likes of Mally,Kim &co,Laura Geller,Dennis Basso,Nina leonard etc...they actually have the "face" representing their own brand,,,,,as opposed to Emu who have gone through lots of guests.I think they make the most of them while they're here,so we endure hours and hours of them in one visit

I have to say, over the years I can only remember Kim & Co taking up 2 consecutive day slots and (now its 3 consecutive days)., because they stood out in the monthly tv guide ! I cant argue because perhaps the other US brands had a few days between each airing in the past.

kirks folly always used to do several shows over 2 days. i think maybe 3 on occasion. i can remember 3 hour shows too. tova and california style and joan rivers were always 2 days.

its much better for schedules and not wasting travelling time for the guests i would imagine comming from the states but it is boring to watch

IMO what makes it boring is the repetitiveness of qvc own brands eg northern nights, week in week out, rather than an american guest doing a few shows over 2 days every few months.

I remember the days of staying up waiting for the TSV, but now it's trumpeted days in advance and I don't feel the same enthusiasm. Certainly in the early days very few guests aired over 2 days and there was so much more variety. Nowadays the same old brands are trotted out and ones such as Kipling and Northern Nights seem to have monthly TSV's. QVC has certainly lost its way and needs to up their game.

I cannot see any problem with 'repeating' shows - does the OP meaning repeat airings or different shows showcasing the same line? - it gives viewers who may not have seen one airing of a product the chance to catch it being demonstrated on air. If they want to buy, they will; if not, they won't. Most televisions do have an off button!
One thing I do find rather disconcerting, is the recent numerous hours being devoted to Emu, for the simple fact that I have a funny feeling the Q may be trying to offload old stock because they intend on stopping selling the brand, and it would be nice to know this, and also why would they stop selling it? Having said all that, it may not be the case. Who knows?

I imagine they have high returns on emu's as sizing is a problem on them...and lots of reviews say so....

I find it annoying that they trot out very past season kipling bags and theres not one whiff of a reduction or them being put into sale...

Emu sizing in my experience is to go down a size. Q presenters should be able to say so during the presentation.

The problem Q has with Emu is the pricing. They simply cannot compete with the likes of Amazon.

The problem Q has with Kipling is they have too many shows, featuring too many exclusive to Q bags which IMO don't meet the usual kipling standards. They need fewer shows and genuine bargains on the most popular bags.

I imagine the reason they flog EMUs to death at the moment is down to the weather. Now is the time people will be wanting fury boots, no point trying to flog them in August.

Have to agree about the US guests having regularly covered a couple of days. I like watching mad Lenny and he's always been on over a couple of days.

The almost weekly Emu shows comes across as desperate to shift their winter stock before the cold weather runs out. Maybe the availability of genuine Australian sheepskin boots at lower prices elsewhere has meant that the QVC warehouse still has stock they expected to shift before Christmas but didn't.

Why don't they make real reductions like other retailers do when a season ends, or just return them unsold to Emu and start selling something else.

Reading through this thread, I've realised I really miss the jewellery shows, Im not a big fan of lola rose or veronesse so not been a lot for me of late,, they dont even have very many diamonique hours either come to think of it.

when I first started watching QVC about 6 years ago (when I got freeview) it was a good 3 months before the same products and brands came round for the second time and I was impressed that they had such a broad range. Not any more as many of you have already said.

Some combos of guest and presenter are uncomfortable or embarrassing to watch, especially when you compare them with shows where there is a good chemistry - e.g. the Kelly Hoppen/Charlie Brook TSV launch show and the Rosa/Craig Yankee Candle shows.

Good guests make such a lot of difference. Marie Francoise with Kipling, Rosa for YC, the Frank Usher lady. They all know their product and present in a calm but pleasant way with facts not hysterics (unlike Janie with her slim and lift stuff or dare I say Mally !).
