I suppose you can't blame anyone, for utilising the avenues open to them, but we all know she is moving and, consequently, is having a sell off, of some of her unwanted, pre loved stuff. Including - wait for it - Yong Kim! She has given us verse and chapter on her blog - 'hope you can attend' - and has even mentioned the sale on air.
I do like Debs (despite all the hassle about the BTY QVC FB page blocking), but it does appear to me, to be a bit forward, promoting her sale on air. Perhaps it is just me, being such an introverted person. Is this normal, to self promote on air? I don't watch it enough to have an opinion.

Ive made no bones about the fact I can't stand the woman. You can tell with DF it's a case of me, myself and I. She thinks she has the right to use people (fans) and airtime for her own personal gain, including charity events. Why not promote good causes on air instead of the church of Debbie Flint if she has free airtime allocated to her? she must do because the bosses don't seem to give a toss. I don't mean to offend her fans, but to me she comes across as very selfish, arrogant and rude, nope, can't stand her.

Totally agree, why do people need to have a daily update about her moving house, she puts everything she's up to on social media it's no wonder people have hacked into her account.

Think it's a shame to get continuous online hassle but would think her family or close friends would tell her to reign it in a bit! Why why why!! Don't get this telling the world every day!! Maybe I just respect my privacy too much :mysmilie_1:

When you think about it, it's really, really sad that someone craves attention so much. But I still can't stand the woman on screen, the sales tactics and the self-obsession.

Though I do wonder why QVC allow it. I mean, if you follow it to its logical conclusion, ALL the presenters should be flogging their other off-screen money-spinners as well, so we'd have Pipa singing her little heart out, Sara G doing voice impressions, Micael giving fashion advice, God love him, and the rest reading bits of their blogs, doing promos, and marketing whatever they get up to. As I've said before, I don't want any of my hard-earned cash promoting their over-inflated egos, thank you very much, and it's my money and yours that pays for this @@@p. Or rather, it used to be when I bought loads from them.

Without meaning to be provocative, louise, what is it about DBF you like? I'm only asking because I really don't get it at all.

I don't mind you asking, Thatu. Many reasons, none of which is her skills as a presenter, although I do like her. She is an intelligent lady, with a broad generic and direct knowledge; I admire this in anyone. Her interests are the same as mine : architecture, history, literature, and our fascination with life coaches. But the main attraction for me is her love for her dogs, as I used to breed boxers, and would do anything for them. Whenever I have contacted her, she has always replied. I also think I could have an extremely interesting conversation with her. I realise I must sound like the mad lady, who is president of her fan club, I'm really not. I have had issues with her, the main one being blocked from the BTY QVC FB group when she initially said I had been allowed back in, then that I was never blocked, then I heard nothing else on the matter. Because it was more an issue of principal, I am not especially fussed. I can also see what detractors mean about her pushy style. Personally, it doesn't bother me. As a salesperson, I would not use her methods, but she is not a professional salesperson. I also have to admit, advertising her sale seems, to me, a little tacky. But this is Debs, and I don't think she means to be offensive. Of course we all disagree; it is this diversity of opinions, which males this forum, an invigorating and thought provoking place to visit.
Well, you did ask, Thatu!

I can't help feeling that obsessively living your life online is unhealthy. It must be detrimental to friendships and relationships with more private people.

I suppose if you do live every breath and step you take online, it doesn't seem at all outrageous to promote whatever it is you are doing so publicly, and without consideration of how appropriate or inappropriate your actions are.

Debbie's not alone in this, in my experience. I have to be extremely firm with face-book addicted friends when I socialise with them, that it is not acceptable to post photographs or information about me on their pages. So far it's been respected, but I have to constantly be vigilant as their behaviour is habitual, not deliberate, so regular reminders are needed. If Debbie's not getting any sort of reminder that it's not ok with everyone, and it's not ok in all situations to post stuff, it won't change.

You're spot on, she must be intelligent. I don't think I could con people into buying a diet book on how to lose weight when I clearly haven't, and give it five stars to boot! Yeah, she sure is. She will always reply, she needs people to think they're her friend, if she doesn't she won't look popular, or have a fan base to sell her slutty "novels" and diet books to, basically they fatten her retirement fund. I admire your loyalty, but remember DF is not your real friend, she's your virtual one, but like you say, we all like different things. I will never like anyone that cons a charity but hey, that's just my morals.

None of my friends (or me) are not on Facebook, if we want to meet or tell each other something, we kick it old school, and phone each other.

Quite right too! I loathe facebook and have refused all invitations to friend people and set up a page. I understand it is a necessary evil for people who run businesses these days, but instinctively I felt repelled by the concept, and have not seen anything to make me feel I'm missing out, or would find it beneficial.

F/book, or Twitter certainly WOULD NOT enhance my life whatsoever. I don't share 'Instagrams' and I'm certainly not interested in other people's either - especially their kids or grandkids !!! Cant think how I'm surviving without any of these social media outlets, but I CAN converse strangely enough.

I am not being loyal, rather giving an answer to a question. I know who my friends are and, I can assure you, I do not even consider Debs, or anyone on QVC, as a virtual friend. I don't know the lady, so it would be somewhat outlandish, to assume she was.
Regarding the Joan Collins fiasco, I firmly believe we all have a conscience. We behave according to what it tells us is acceptable, morally and legally. Without our principles, we have, and are, nothing.

You don't owe me any assurance, just an observation that for a lady you don't know, you seem to know an awful lot. As for your last comment, she clearly has no conscience, morals or principles. I wouldn't admire someone like that, and she can't be all that intelligent if she "didn't know" she was allowed to enter, that's all I'm commenting on that "fiasco" now.

I always liked Debbie before she left for a few years; she had a good sense of humour and I always like folk who aren't afraid to laugh out loud, and Debbie always had a great loud laugh, not a nervous, self-conscious laugh like say Catherine or the weirdly out of place laughter of Jill Franks. I still hear the laugh and I still see her as an intelligent hard-working woman. I reckon her real friends and family have a good laugh with her. None of that is diminished by the BCC auction, I hold QVC complicit in their poor handling of the incident. We weren't adequately reassured that the charity hadn't lost even a penny because of it not actually selling. She is a blummin good saleswoman; but I don't particularly like the singy songy voice with it's unusual points of emphasis but it doesn't bother me enough to turn off if I'm interested in buying an item she's presenting. The mentions of her book float past me and never tempt me to read.

I don't mind her facebook group - nothing to do with me and I'm not sure Debbie is manipulating her followers; they clearly get perks out of their relationship with Debbie and I don't begrudge them. I can't second guess what motivates the members of her group, nor blame Debbie if the odd viewer is "manipulated" into buying something by her; I think all the presenters seem under pressure to push items in recent years.

I suppose I've just mellowed as I've got older and I don't want to feel judgmental anymore because it rarely impacts on the focus of my feeling but generally makes me feel worse. I've managed to forgive some really awful people and their evil actions over my adult years, so Debbie Flint doesn't even register as needing more than a passing thought. I hope I don't get shot down in flames for bucking the trend, but I'll survive either way.

Why would you get shot down in flames, it's your opinion and you're entitled to it, you clearly like her, a member of certain groups perhaps? Believe me I too am so laid back I'd fall over, but still I am able to comment on the injustice of a woman who clearly has an agenda, you won't agree but many see it. Also people who really like DF will never see that people dislike the hard sell tactic and taking up QVCs time with her free self promotion when other presenters have enough respect not to, so believe me it's not a "trend" it's real and it's genuine. I see you put manipulated in to air quotes, but there are infact vulnerable people out there that shouldn't be taken advantage of.

This hate campaign against Debbie Flint makes me sick. How can you say a what a person is like unless you know her? I am not a fan of social media it causes more trouble than it's worth and why people feel the need to tell all on these sites is beyond me. This is the only Forum I have ever been a member of and enjoy the banter but not this constant referral to Debbi Flint. I am not a fan of any of the presenters in particular to me they are the same as the lady who serves me in my local shop, just sales people.
