I was just wondering if QVC have cut back on their customer service staff in Liverpool. I just rang them and for the first time ever didn't get through to someone straight away. The man on their recording has a very posh voice but I didn't want to hear it a dozen times nor listen to almost the whole of the Arrival of the Queen of Sheba!!

I received the wrong item for an order I placed and yet again they only refunded the item but not the P&P, does anyone else have to chase up the P&P refund for faulty/wrong goods sent? Keep an eye on your credit card statements.

I think Qvc must be really struggling at the moment. I know that I have cut back on my spending, and think twice about going for things I don't really need. Everything seems to be cheaper on the net also, which doesn't help them.

They must be hanging on for dear life, and I'm sure have made cuts across the board. I keep expecting Presenters "to leave" i.e get the boot, but they don't seem to be. The wage bill for presenters must be huge. We'll see what happens.....

Why not send them an e mail?

QVC US have cut warehouse staff. And get this one, CS staff who work from home. Yes they work at home with a computer which contects them to QVC network to place orders and answer queries and sort returns. Alot of customers there having problems with returns and refunds.

I have sent emails on occasions but it usually takes a couple of days to get a response. (Or not at all when I emailed about their sound problems). As it was a refund they hadn't refunded, I wanted to sort it out straight away. When I did finally speak to someone she actioned it immediately.

QVC have got to go back to "grass roots" products with realistic prices. I have no problem with luxury goods, but you can't have that and nothing else. There need to be more P&P incentives too. We always check ebay before buying now and it seems QVC don't seem to want to do anything to counter that sort of buying threat. I've certainly cut my spending back and think twice before ordering now, especially with the amount of items that have to be returned because they're just not up to scratch.

Oh, and less of the gardening *please*! So boring! It's still only selling products after all, there's certainly very little actual gardening going on. Even as a flat dweller I enjoy gardening shows and my local garden centre but it doesn't make good shopping telly.

Coincidentally, I had to phone CS yesterday for that very reason! I returned an item for which they couldn't send a pre-paid label as it weighed over 1kg. The refund finally hit my bank account (I paid with switch) yesterday and only the item and the postage I paid to return it was credited. I had to call to remind them I had also paid a hefty postage charge to get the faulty item from QVC in the first place!!! Infuriating!!

I'm sure they do it on purpose in the hope we won't notice and they can make a bit extra.

I also think they try it on. I remember once buying a Molton Brown Xmas tsv which was never delivered. They initially didn't refund me the p&p. When I called them they said it was an oversight :33:

I think you're right, moth.

When I first started watching QVC, over ten years ago, there were far more 'QVC Selection' hours, which were often devoted to time or money saving gadgets.

OK, so some of the gadgets were in the 'who the hell would buy THAT? :11:' category, but I'd feel far less guilty about spending £20 on a paint roller or something than I would buying jewellery or beauty products.

Since QVC's gone down the luxury item route they're competing in an overcrowded market where you can nearly always buy cheaper elsewhere.

I'd feel very guilty if I spent £20 on a paint roller because I'd never use it, jewellery or beauty products I would!!

Moth and sublime I think you're right. My only impulse buys now seem to be cleaning products or things that are quite unusual. They've done the luxury market to death. They need to look after those who like their bargains, and I'm sure most us who look at QVC love a bargain... so get back to them. They only create problems when they get prestigious brands, force them to cut corners, and therefore quality, to reduce price and then get complaints. Maybe Lola Rose is in this category. Be fair QVC.
