Cooks Essentials Garlic Twist

I've actually really helped you out anyway because the only one left is the colour of nicotine stained wall and nobody really wants that do they? 😂😂
Er excuse me, that's the one I bought as my kitchen is yellow and cream (not with nicotine stains) and I thought that would be the best match 😁

Does anyone remember those ashtrays that were on a tall stand and you pressed a button and the top bit sucked up all the ash? My grandad had one back in the 60s and I just thought of it when I had another look at this gadget.

You've just ruined it for me! I actually liked the nic - yellow one but now I'll forever think of it as nicotine-stained. At least I didn't order the bruised skin one or the pond-weed one. (Weed as in plant, not, er... the otherr).

This thread has turned out to be a gold rush - does anyone remember the thread about the dusters that we were all going to buy except we didn't when we saw the price?
Yeah, see, MrM. It was the one I would have chosen as well, even if they’d all been available.

And yes, CC, I do remember those ashtrays. Well, something probably not quite the same but a table-top one with a plunger which made the inner bit spin around and open up so the butts and ash fell inside. Probably sell for a fortune now, second-hand, for their retro value!

Is there no thread you don’t read?!

To be fair, you do have a point. And to be fair to me, I have had a re-think and am not buying it. I remembered I have a small electric and a manual chopper plus a garlic press so this would just further clutter up the cupboard or worktop or drawer or wherever else I could find room to cram it in (probably have to be the bathroom cabinet … except I don’t have one).
Andi, I have many garlic choppers and pressers, some which work well and some not so well, but they all are a nightmare to clean so unless I'm doing loads I revert to using a knife, so I'm hoping this will be easier to clean out

I remember those, and the donkey cigarette dispenser when you moved the ears, it came out of its @rse

The thing with garlic whatever happens you've got to chop the ends of and peel the damn thing so you'll still get smelly hands. My trusty old Magic bullet does a brilliant job of chopping garlic so I'm sorted!

I just squash with the flat of a knife and put it in whatever I'm cooking. It gets the flavour through the food.

I cheat I'm afraid.

That was it! The very one. Grandad had the one on a stand and my dad had the table top one. Now I come to think of it, my Step Dad had a similar thing but it was a pocket one - in fact I may have bought it for him. Sadly they (and their ashtrays) are all long gone.
