Claudia`s Niece

I agree with you Snoopy. I have never seen such an illiterate communication on this site, or anywhere else . I do like Claudia, she is one of my favourite presenters.

That's a bit strong, isn't it? Isn't this a open forum, not grammar school where we have to take an exam before we are granted admission? Or perhaps one or two of us might think this should be introduced!

Yeah thats rite anybudy hoo cant spell rite shud be banned frum here its a disgaice the spellin in sum posts :D

If the poster is Claudia's neice, then she is the daughter of her brother or sister.. Now, it is no secret that Claudia is quite well to do & went to private school, etc (so her siblings probably did too).. It would follow that their children would most probably all be educated privately.. Some on here (me included) am suspicious that the poster Georgie is Claudia's neice.. Yes, I am referring to the very bad grammar & spelling for a 14 year old.. This is my opinion, anyone can come on here & say they are related to certain people.. But I can say that im not totally convinced that Georgie is who she says she is.. If its proved differently, then whoo hoo :mysmilie_696:

Way to make a newcomer welcome folks! (Snoopy, Daisy etc) Are you trying to make someone feel insecure? Not everyone is blessed with being perfect in every way - I'm certainly not (unlike some around here, apparently) and I'm bloomin' grateful that (so far, at least) no-one is marking me on my posts which is, effectively what is happening here. What are we saying - we only trust people with perfect spelling/grammar/typing skills? A few of us should sling our hooks if that's the case.
Has it occurred to all those cynics that we may have been contacted by someone who wants to be friendly, to defend her lovely aunt (about whom she would be so much more informed than the rest of us) and who is honest as the day is long? It might just be the case ...

i wouldnt dream of correcting an adult poster's spelling or grammar because lets face it, the horse has bolted. but if a 14 year old child comes on to the boards and cant correctly spell the word "niece" then i think their parents should be making sure that the child spends their time on schoolwork and not on doing their hair with GHD stylers and discussing family members on a public forum. call me old fashioned!

also, its equally likely to be that its someone taking the piss, as it is to be a genuine 14 year old so both points of view are valid.

Shame you edited your post. Now I can't say oh gawd another one in a state of apoplexy. :mysmilie_61:

Before you edited.

I agree Nicky. I think it’s shocking how rude some people can be. I wonder if you’re as rude to people in real life, or is it just because you are hidden behind a monitor you feel you have the right to say anything to anyone? I work with 14-19 years olds, some of them from private schools. This is by no means a measure of their grammar abilities, trust me. To be honest, some of the ‘grown ups’ on here can barely talk let alone type grammatically, so why pick on a 14 year old? Personally I think you should give her all a break, live and let live, and stop being so rude. So what if she is making it up? What if she’s not? Who cares? Let’s just be mature and kind, the way we would expect to be treated ourselves. No wonder society has broken down if this is the way people are to each other.

Well i care a great deal remember Waxit ? He caused a great deal of upset on this forum good people left and others fell out big time.

they dont call you "snoopy" for nowt do they! :mysmilie_17:

lol

I edited because I thought better of being caught up in this pointless conversation. I meant what I said and I am just in utter disbelief on how people on forums behave. No, I don’t remember Waxit, I am quite new here. I only joined to find out what was coming up on QVC but I ended up getting drawn into it. I just hate the rudeness, it’s like certain people get off on being downright rude to strangers. Oh well, each to their own I suppose.

I would like to ask one thing of Georgie-did you ask your Auntie if she minded you posting on here? And if so, was she completely ok with it? If the answer is yes to both, she must have known that you might get a bit of a mixed reaction, so I am surprised that she allowed you to risk it!
If the answer is no, and she does not have a clue, it might be wise to check with her first.

Don't think Cloudier :D would like the "eats like a pig" line :D anyhoo at least Georgie livened ST up for a bit.
