Cheryl Baker will be joining Ruth Linett in this week’s Celebrity Selection. The two hour special airs this coming Sunday, at 6pm on Sky channel 642.

Cheryl Baker first burst onto our screens as part of the effervescent pop sensation “Bucks Fizz”, when they won the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest. The memorable ‘Making your mind up’ with its unforgettable skirt-ripping dance routine went on to reach top of the charts in 9 countries. “Bucks Fizz” continued to enjoy their whirlwind success, gaining world-wide recognition with a string of over 20 hit records. Cheryl emerged as the star; her naturally bubbly personality shone through and she was soon in demand to present a range of TV shows. The public fell in love with their ‘girl next door’, her charm and personality appealing to young and old alike and she’s still keeping us entertained today.

Cheryl’s natural charisma and easy charm have allowed her to be one of Britain’s best loved presenters. She has presented a number of shows ranging from children’s television programs to daytime current affairs shows and prime-time Saturday evening shows. Whatever she is doing, she always adds a little sparkle and fizz to the entertainment! The public loved Cheryl so much that during the 90’s, she could be watched on TV six days a week, presenting and featuring on various shows. In addition to presenting 26 television shows she has featured on numerous radio shows, walked the boards of the theatre and entertained her public in various pantomimes, written newspaper and magazine editorials, contributed to 3 books, whilst finding time to pick up a number of awards.

More recently, Cheryl was the sole presenter for the BBC’s acclaimed wildlife series ‘Saving Planet Earth’. She makes frequent guest appearances on hit TV and radio shows and is still regularly featured in celebrity magazines. 2008 also saw Cheryl reunited with Mike Nolan and Shelley Preston to form “The Original Bucks Fizz” performing at festivals both here and abroad, private functions and corporate events. The album, “The Very Best of Bucks Fizz” was released in May and reached No. 40 in the album charts. When Cheryl is not livening up our screens or belting out “Bucks Fizz” classics, she is investing her time and attentions campaigning for a number of charities, which she is extremely passionate about, and she still manages to raise her twin daughters at the same time!

Do not miss Cheryl Baker’s Celebrity Selection, this Sunday at 6pm, Sky channel 642, when she will join Ruth Linett for two fun-filled hours, whilst she highlights some her favourite jewellery from the Rocks & Co. portfolio.
