Who buys bras off the telly? I wonder as well if QVC are missing a trick by not stocking bras in larger cup sizes - surely a large proportion of QVC viewers are much bigger than a DD cup, given that many of them are in a more mature age bracket?

I admit that I'm one of those unfortunates who cannot buy High Street bras due to genetics (I got more than my fair share), and my observation is that if you need big bras when you're in your 20s, you need colossal ones in your 50s! (I think I'll have to be approaching ship builders by the time I'm in my 50s.)

I'm not aiming to upset anyone, I'm just wondering who buys bras off the telly?

Cheers, CountessK.

I find 2 parachutes attached together with some good sturdy rope works wonders for me.

P.S. I'm only 24 so goodness knows where I'm gonna buy bras when I'm 50+

Saw them when AD was on. Shame as I had turn the volume right down so could not hear what the guest said. They seemed rather pricey. Anyone got them and are they any better than say M&S??

18£ for a bra seems reasonable to me - I have a couple of M&S ones which are ok but the ones I trust and love are all by a brand called Ulla Dessous (not to be confused with Ulla Popken) and sadly they're 40£ a pop. Totally worth it for me but ouch. I love their bodies even more but they're well over 100£.

I have to admit I have an unfair advantage, though, as my mom lives close to an outlet so I stock up when I can.

I use Figleaves, as recommneded on here, great for good bras, prices and big ladies like me. Looked at the breezies but they are always out of stock when it comes to my size. I used to have trouble finding my size when I was a teen, now I'm 44 they stock that size most everywhere. Too late in more ways than one now!

Am a bit lazy with bras so feel it's time to upgrade. Will have a look at the brand thanks

I get mine from Primark, Tk and Next. I have to try them on as I find bras really difficult to get right - I must be a funny shape...

As loujareth has said, Figleaves.co.uk is great as well, I just find that their styles are very limited in larger sizes so there's a lot of basic black, white & nude. Booooooring.

I took a chance on Breezies and found them lovely. Well made, comfortable ( I went for non-wired) and supportive. I don't really see any difference to buying bras from the telly than from Figleaves or any mail order company...you get the chance to try them at home and sent back if not suitable.

I must say I wonder a bit about buying bras via mail order generally, they all fit so differently, even within a size, depending on the style. You can return them of course but I know from personal experience that I have found myself wearing even the right size bra incorrectly, straps too loose/tight etc. Having recently been re-measured since losing baby weight I was reminded how there's nothing like a good fitting brassiere :giggle:. I assumed I'd sadly deflated back down to my pre-pregnancy 34B (only time I ever had a chest to speak of was due to motherhood, but it’s just not enough of an incentive) but a good professional measure showed I'm now a 32D. This makes me sound like I look, erm, far better than I do shall we say  because when you go up in cup you go down in the back, or something like that, i.e. you may have a D cup but if your back is 32 then a D isn’t actually very big at all.

Hope that makes a bit of sense?! For what it’s worth I always go for comfort over style and like Berlei and the aptly-named Triumph. Didn’t get on with Rigby and Peller, I don’t care if they are favoured by the Queen...

I used to wear Triumph a lot as a teenager cause they were the only bras that were able to deal with my ample supply but I've really started favouring wired bras recently. And, tbh, having someone who sees me undress and enjoys it has made me be pickier about what I wear underneath.

You go girl

I have to agree that it is much harder to find stylish bras in a larger size. As an E-F cup and with a larger band size also, I am somewhat limited to white/nude lacy full cup contraptions which, when you want to wear a lower cut top, just wont cut the mustard. No choice though, after 4 kids it's either wear a bra, or step on them..... :giggle:

You should give Bravissimo a go! they have a website and you can order a wee catalogue from it. Bra's aint cheap but very good quality and very pretty options if your fed up of the nude/white/black numbers.

They also do fab beachwear which can normally be a hazard for the big busted woman! I find anything that helps keep them in place and not smacking me in the face when running for the bus is a god send, saves on the concealer for the black eyes! lol x

I'm lucky that any bra in my size, where ever I buy them, fits me so I don't have to spend a lot of money to get a comfy fit. I do agree with the idea of them specialising in larger sized bras in pretty fabrics and colours and with matching knickers, slips, camisoles, negligees etc, as I'm sure the well-endowed woman has probs getting really pretty undies on the dreaded high street.

I sometimes think that we would make better buyers for QVC than the encumbents.

I'm really lucky in that there is a fabulous independent bra shop where I live in London. You get one-on-one service and they're not tied to any one brand, I tend to favour Panache bras. Mind you, it's not long til I'll have to trudge along for some maternity bras, I dread to think what on earth size I'll be this time... Do you think bras go up to a P-cup?? *sigh*

Cheers for all your replies, looks like we're a boobylicious bunch here on ST.com!

Countess, http://www.nursingbra.co.uk/bravado.htm <----------------- that maternity bra was a godsend to me while I was pregnant and now I'm breastfeeding. It's soooo comfy! Not traditional sizing either, it will expand with you as your milk comes in. Really fab bra.

I ordered a Breezies one from Le Q last year and sent it back because it was too big in the cup. I ordered my usual bra size but found I didn't fill it :) Maybe American woman are more blessed in that department.
