pictures are up.......I don't like it all
I agree that on the whole Birkis are very ugly. I think they suit people like myself with larger feet (size 41). I am a recent convert and have 3 pairs of the gizeh. I needed to break my feet into my first pair especially as have the toe thong. Even when I started wearing them again a few weeks ago on holiday, I had to break my feet in again but not for so long.Personally I can't see what the fuss is about. I think they are close on the ugliest thing I have ever seen. I am lucky that I have never had to break in a shoe in my life. If a pair of shoes feels comfortable when I try them on, then I can walk anywhere with them on. I can't understand why they keep saying you have to break these in. Is it so that the 30 day money guarantee is expired?
They also say that only one person should wear these shoes as they mould to fit your feet. Isn't this the same as any other shoe? Who shares shoes - not me! To me thats almost as bad as sharing a toothbrush.
I grew up wearing Clarks and still wear them now. I do order Clarks shoes from QVC and they are still just as comfortable as when I was growing up.
I very rarely wear the same pair of shoes 2 days running so that the shoes dry out properly and to prevent my feet becoming accustomed to them.
I have more shoes, sandals, boots, trainers than I need for the rest of my life
I threw quite a few out when I moved house 13 years ago. I have recently chucked away a pair of Pony tennis shoes that had disintegrated - I bought them in the early eighties (had to look up on my CV where I was working at the time). It was like walking with springs when wearing them.Oh iloveshopping, you are a girl after my own heart! I am exactly the same, I never wear the same pair 2 days running, plus I always clean them before putting them away and I use shoes trees in all of my shoes. Also I am very light on my shoes. I have a pair of work boots from 1978 that I still use in the garden and many pairs of Trickers court shoes from the 1980s when I worked in the City. Whats your oldest pair?

I unfortunately heavy on my shoes as I am 178cm tall even though I am quite slim the footwear takes a hammering.
My current favourites are my Merrell Yarra furry boots, a pair of Merrell Mary Janes and a pair of Keen sandals which can be used for hiking in the summer and also worn in the sea on rocks. I would like more pairs of lovely strappy sandals but realistically I walk a lot and like to have comfortable shoes (no doubt a middle age thing).
I have just loads of boots for the winter and like the german reiker range as they have furry insides which keep my feet warm - I have a really nice pair of suede ones but they are a bit delicate for daily wear.
BTW I notice you are based in South of France. I used to live in Angouleme, Charente and visited my step sister quite often who lives in Nice. I love the arriere pays and used to also visit friends in Castellane. Now I tend to see her when she comes to visit our parents.
Just remembered I had some friends who lived in Grasse and as they had a car with 06 matriculation, the guardiansIf you know Castellane then you know my region. I am at Moissac Bellevue which is just outside Aups. Its a beautiful area and then of course there is the stunning Gorges du Verdon and Lac St Croix. Of course the L'occitane factory is at Manosque which is about 30 minutes away and the plains alongside of the Lac will be covered in lavender in July which are harvested by L'occitane.
The lilac and irises are all out in flower at the moment - can you tell I love where I live?
