I see in clearance that most of the Barr & Barr handbag stock is up for grabs, and only after a couple of airings. Is this yet another brand that is going the way of KVZ and Charlie Apson - always in clearance.

It begs the question that are qvc seriously overpricing these handbags in the first place to make a profit.

I was really looking forward to the Barr and Barr brand. I thought it might be a deccent leather handbag range.

When the one and only bag I ordered came it looked like something you would pay £70 for at the most- I'd paid £150.

Needless to say it went back (they came and collected it!). I noticed it went to £99 very quick

Even in Clearance they are pricey!

I tried one once when it was an OTO and the quality did not justify the price.......definitely not "buttery soft leather" as described in the presentation so it soon went back. I have both Radley and Tula Bags (same Company I know) and the leather is lovely plus they were a lot cheaper than Barr & Barr, B Makowsky, etc. Of course, they are in the business to make as much profit as possible but I do feel they are being greedy, especially when they keep harping on about "our terrific bulk-buying power". Under those circumstances, they should be offering us better prices where they stand a chance of selling more instead of being left with a load of stock they can't shift! Bet they'll all be in TK Maxx next month!!!

Why QVC/UK insist on pushing these American brands is ridiculous. I know they are probably being dictated to by QVC/USA but it's time they listened to the UK customers and offered us more goods from famous names we in the UK know.

some charlie lapson bags today in the outlet @ £30 turquoise though

Totally agree Busylizzie. The bulk buying power statement is a total fantasy now and should be reported under the TDA when you consider a lot of the products CAN be bought cheaper elsewhere; and I resent having to be confronted with ridiculously high prices for American brands that we have never heard of before. If we are offered British designer goods that are household names then that would be understandable, but nobody in their right mind is going to fork out over a couple of hundred quid (which nobody buys, even in clearance) for bags by a Mickey Mouse designer.

I suppose one of the problems with British designers is that we can price check goods on their own UK websites, which often makes a mockery of the prices that QVC are trying to charge. For example, I bought a large Romilly bag from the Lulu Guinness website, in the sale, for £118 and the QVC price was ( and still is, months later ) £390. Also Lola Rose has a half price sale on at the moment and lots of the styles are on QVC at full price. With the American designers and their own brands like Northern Nights and Cooks Essentials they can charge what they like and know that we can't go elsewhere.
