There appears to be another new plus size model in the nest. But omg, again the poor woman looked a bloody sight in the flared Ronni Nicole frock they poured her into (8pm show). It was too short, much too tight on the bust, and when she turned around, all her rolls were in evidence where the dress was too small. Top that with her heavy legs under the too short flared skirt, an armhole that showed everything, and it spelt car crash - DF and the denim jacket (stylist) ooooooed and aaaaaared at how lovely she looked, - unbelievable.

Yes we need plus size models, but dress them correctly. They must realise that their plus size audience are put off buying if they think they will look like those poor girls.

They need to employ a plus-size specialist stylist, and get real with the samples they make available for the models. It wouldn't hurt if they also sourced some better fashion options for size 16+ (rather than 12+, as the fashion/modelling world would have it).

Surely they could source some other options?

In terms of the models, they need models with some sass rather than shrinking violets... Mind you, looking like an overfilled sausage would crush the sass out of a lot of potential models.

I don't believe for one minute that most of the presenters are size 10-12, I just don't.

Everything looks so lovely on tall slim models, hence the reason most design houses use them, but we are not all built like that, I'm a wee fat person who is only 5ft and who is constantly frustrated by the QVC modelling, and yes I too saw that presentation and I thought of all the lovely plus size models around, they could have had another, the lass can't help her legs and to me she looked like an 18+ but they say tv makes you look bigger.

I'm lucky as I can wear 2 sizes smaller in trousers and leggings as I have very slim legs and ankles -

To look your best, it is better not to listen to the claptrap about "give" and go for your best size for your measurements. Personally I think our dress sizes in the UK are beyond a joke, like their US equivalents. They are adjusted every generation or so. If they did trousers by waist or hips, and tops by chest/bust we'd know better where we stood. It, and shoe sizes should be regulated.

Men don't have this nonsense to put up with, so why do women???

I saw a couple of Joe Browns items on the models today and neither of them were roomy enough to do up the buttons. What is the point of that? They made a point of saying you could wear one as a dress so hopefully they would wear it done up!

That probably explains why she looks like 2 elephants trying to get out of a sack when 'modelling'. Total rubbish that she's 10/12, she's more like a 16 any day. And if they think pouring a plus size model into a small size dress is the way to attract the larger ladies, then they are sadly mistaken. Perhaps I'm missing something here, but I can't see how it does anything for the brand, either.

I caught 5 minutes of this hour, when they were showing a white blouse with a bottom bit that was a different coloured fabric. It looked a real hodge-podge to me, but perhaps it looked better on. I've seen this company's brochures inside newspapers and the items do look very small to me, although I believe they say they go up to size 18.

Not even a month after I opened this thread, and here we go again ! Another disastrous Ronni Nicole show with the p/size model looking an embarrassment. Squeezed into a pink tailored dress was a complete no no, so God knows why the stylist pushed her onto the runway looking so awful. Tummy sticking out and I cant even describe her backside that was struggling to escape. Making her the lead in the promo for the Join tsv didn't work either, putting her in skin tight trousers certainly didn't do her any favours.

She's a very pretty girl and doesn't deserve to have this on her CV. If I was backstage I certainly wouldn't dress her like this. I'm a 20 and know what bits to emphasise and what bits to hide.

brissles I completely agree, couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her. Poor girl must have been mortified at being sent out like that. Makes you wonder if the 'stylists' are spiteful or just useless ? If I had been the model I would have refused to go out to the catwalk.

We males have the same issue too - they just call the garments small, medium, large, etc. Even with cm/inch measured garments there's still a world of difference between Primark (usually cut for skinny runts) and Matalan (usually cut for fat blokes). Somewhere like H&M will have particular men's garments that are a perfect fit for me when described as Medium but others similarly described that will be un-put-on-able. There is no consistancy. It's guesswork and trial and error.
