During the In The Salon Hour I'm sure she was wearing a Ken Paves light blonde crown piece, not a dark root parting to be seen.
Though there was a slight darkness to be seen on the left temple.

Yes it looks just like the 'top a do' thing but you can see a dark area above her left temple.
