So disappointed of all the items she could have brought and then it’s a rehash of a TSV that’s gone before

I don't think I have ever seen a round Ottoman, mine is a long one and fits nicely at the end of my bed. I can't see me changing.

I've seen similar ones in TK Maxx in clearance at £19.99. In fact I bought one in fuschia velvet with deep fuschia/white fringing (I think I've mentioned before I'm a sucker for fringing), and yes I will agree with LATI that its hard to store in a round container.

It's not really the same thing but Aldi have a Specialbuy storage stool this week in pink, navy or royal blue velvet. It's got legs so the storage area will be smaller, though (44l). Not my sort of thing with the metal legs or, on the Alison Cork one, that brassy band round the bottom. It just wouldn't suit my decor.

I'm not a great lover of those spindly brass legs either. There's a lot of them about in this 'modern' type furniture, in coffee tables, side tables, consoles, but they look easy to knock over to me.

The Aldi one doesn't look very sturdy as a seat, either. I imagine the legs bowing but other Kirton House items I've had were decent quality.

I've been half looking for a bigger ottoman for my lounge for a while, partly as a seat to go in front of the window, where there's also a radiator, and partly to store heated and other throws. The ones I've found are either several hundred quid or those pastel velvet ones which to me are meant for the bedroom. Also, many are not suitable as more than very occasional "perches", whereas I want a proper upholstered seat. I'm so hard to please!

Very 60's to me.

Very 60's to me.

God yeah...my grandmother used to sit on something very similar to this at her dressing table (The Aldi version of course) but to my memory it didn't have any storage within.
Of the two "ottomans" I prefer the price of the Aldi one and I think if the "retro" look is what you're after - it's a total winner.
Alison cork's one...more attractive to look at, but a space taker upper with not an awful lot of practical use. Like others have said a traditional oblong shaped ottoman will fit the spare bedlinen, the throws, the towels etc..this one you could get one or two items in but they're have to be arranged strangely due to the shape. She said bottles, and I though yeah use it as a "cocktail cabinet" but again not that practical as contents of bottles can be spilt and they can drip..so something velvet..again not that practical. I wouldn't throw my shoes in it as they'd be all higgledy pickledy, or put a tray full of beauty products inside as they showed - the most pointless idea of the lot. Style over substance..and without being able to look at it and examine it properly I couldn't tell you whether it was worth the money or not..but no way would I be prepared to send for it to find out as I shudder to think how much they'd charge you for something of that size and weight to be returned!
