A 1970's Christmas!

Of the 3 presents I remember most vividly as a young girl, one was a "Flatsy" doll when I was 9 or 10. They were small vinyl dolls with long colorful hair. I used to cart it around in the breast pocket of my jacket. When I mention it to people I just get blank looks, but I promise you that they did exist.
The others were a chain belt, and a small handbag covered in plastic "pearls". I loved that bag.
I also got a wicker carrying basket one year as there was a bit of a fad for using them for school. Bloody impractical and not a fad that lasted too long.
I had to google Flatsy dolls but I instantly remembered them when I saw them!

One year for Christmas I got bathroom furniture for my Sindy doll. I didn't have a proper dolls house, I had a square board for the floor and two pieces of wood joined together to make four rooms. My dad used bits of leftover carpet to stick on the floor. Bathroom set was bath, toilet and sink, I loved it! I'm 57 but still remember that Christmas present.

I never had a new bike at Christmas, bikes were passed down to the next cousin, and I was the second youngest. Didn't bother me though, although I always wanted a Chopper, they looked so cool. Needless to say none of us ever got one!

Happy memories.

Bikes were always second hand for us too.

I did have a Raleigh chopper purchased second hand and tbh I didn't like the way it rode.
