    Filled or composite Ruby

Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to reply Steve. It has put my mind at rest that this is not a reconstituted stone, so I am happy with the outcome.

Thank you so much to both Sazza for Steve's email address, and to Meeshoo for such a fantastic reply. Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to wrtite all that. Filled or composite Ruby

Thanks for your replies. How do I email Steve direct? The Ruby is from Thailand. I agree Pink pussycat, I am more than happy with the price I paid for a large Ruby if just the cracks are filled, but not so if it is made of lots of little bits, and mainly glass. I should have mentioned to the...

    Filled or composite Ruby

Hi, wonder if anyone can answer this for me. I have sent an email to Gems on Sunday, but so far have not had a reply. I saw an auction for a Ruby ring, with a carat weight for the Ruby of over 12ct. It looked a lovely dress ring, and although I was fully aware that a Ruby of that size for a...

Hi Fluff, thanks very much for your reply. It wasn't an old gems one it was a Tomas Rae coloured rocks, but I managed to follow Miss Magpies link form last time and followed your instructions and changed the number and got the details up, so thanks again.

    Searching for an item

I have just purchased a beautiful (well I think so) Tanzanite ring. The items no longer come with a card of authenticity, I have phoned CS who are sending one to me, but I am waiting for one for my Paraiba I bought about a month ago too, so I know it takes a while. I like to see stone sizes...

    Alexandrite

Thanks all for your replies. I totaly agree if a stone is beautiful it doesn't matter one jot where it was actualy mined. I was just interested as there is quite a lot of hype over the Russian Alexandrite. I'm afraid I also buy for my pleasure and not for any investment as my poor husband has...

    Alexandrite

I have a 9ct Alexandrite ring from Gems from 2005. Its quite a small stone with a little diamond on either side but shows very good colour change. My Mother had bought it and has given it to me but didn't keep her authenticity card. Just wondered if anyone knows if the Alexandrite from 2005...

    Photo of my mystery ring

Thanks meeshoo, I guessed as much, just didn't know if anyone might recognise or have this ring too. In reality it has very few inclussions even with an eye glass, so didn't strike me as Emerald, but I could be wrong. No worries. Thanks for your help. x

    So Thrilled

Thought I'd try and show you my rings this way, by doing a copy and paste to my album with my rings in. Don't know if it works, but I'll give it a try. The smaller ring that Miss Magpie didn't find a photo for, is an even more vivid blue than the large one. Here goes...

    So Thrilled

Hi, no not at all, you are welcome to have a look. I can't see how you can look at items on the Gems website at the moment, but if you know of a way, then here are the item codes. The first one is MHPS49 and the other one is BFPS21.7 By the way meeshoo, I do try not to admire them while...

    So Thrilled

One of my favourite stones in the whole world is Paraiba Tourmaline. I have always been on the search for a really saturated colour without an astronomical price tag. I have previously ordered Paraibas from Gems TV a couple of years ago, and had some arrive that were soooo pale and a couple of...
