Wow thanks so much for the fab pics, I LOVE having a gander at other people's jewellery collections! How fascinating to see these (now vintage) QVC pieces, aren't they wonderful. The quality is superb, really shows up today's far inferior QVC offerings! Both watches are gorgeous. At first...

Ooh the Diamonique tennis watch sounds lovely - is it CZs over the wristband, as well as the face? I'm a big fan of Diamonique, I do think it's excellent quality cubic zirconia. Glad you remember the gold popcorn range too! Gosh your Vincenca watch sounds gorgeous too. Was the Vincenza range...

I never knew about the Ceefax thing, that's amazing!

Imagine getting your mitts on a solid platinum ring for under 50 squids! Oh to hop in a time machine, go back 30 years and hoover up all that lovely fine jewellery in precious metals, that would cost many, many times the price today. One of my favourites back then was QVC's signature 9ct gold...

Agree with you 100% I think it's outrageous to market this recycled brass, disposable/fast fashion costume jewellery as though it's quality fine jewellery - and price it that way too! Tess Daly was giving her new range the celebrity spin in studio, using terms like 'premium'and 'luxury'. She...

I forgot to mention the biggest advantage of buying second hand gold jewellery with some age - it's miles better quality than the wafer-thin tat they sell today at eye-watering prices! So old gold is a win-win! I would much rather be gifted a nice piece of vintage fine jewellery than anything...

Almost certainly rhodium or white gold plated, I'd wager (there used to be another form of acrylic plating that stopped tarnishing too - haven't heard about it in an age). It must be a quality piece. Unplated sterling silver always oxidises and tarnishes over time. Some people prefer that, as...

I love jewellery finds like that, they are the best!

Yes the prices of new, solid gold are outrageous (due to gold prices but also the VAT on top), but there are still some bargains to be had second hand. Ebay and Etsy are a good place to start your research on second hand gold jewellery. And of course there are umpteen second hand jewellers in...

Thank you, much appreciated! Update - Just found the name of that fab sterling silver brand - it's 'Taxco Traditions', with Dominique Dinouart, another great source of quality fine jewellery lost to QVC viewers. Shame.

Absolutely! Not only is the Tess Daly range brass/base metal, it isn't even plated in real gold or silver - each item is branded 'Goldtone/Silvertone. Nasty IMO! Frankly I'm amazed she'd put her name to such tat. In her famous shoes, I would have insisted on a range that was at least solid...

Can anyone help me? I'm not a regular contributor to shoppingtelly.com, but have enjoyed my visits here. I've a query for moderators I don't want to bore other users with - from what I can gather, there's no forum to contact mods. Is that really the case? Sorry to post this in a totally...

Yes, it sold out fast - but judging by the lousy customer reviews on the website, most of Tess Daly's range is coming right back to QVC for refund! Miss Daly was coy and never mentioned it during her on air launch, but her supposedly 'premium' range is made of recycled BRASS! Hardly high-end -...

Excellent point - it hadn't occurred to me QVC no longer sell much sterling silver without Diamonique. There used to be some great silver lines, like that glamorous, Angelica Huston lookalike, who had a classy range of Mexican-made jewellery.

Apologies in advance - if you're a fine jewellery/jewellery fan like me, this will interest you. If not, feel free to scroll on by! As a buyer of QVC fine jewellery for decades, I've been dismayed by its dramatic drop in quality, particularly over the last 5 years. The lack of solid gold items...

    The Presenters!

Fair comment - though in Rishi's defence, unlike his successor Starmer, he did at least pay for his own clothes!

    The Presenters!

You're dreadfully behind the times - this is how the stylish man-about-town wears his suits now. It was first apparent when Daniel Craig got the James Bond gig. His wrist and ankle swinging, ultra-skinny suits looked like breathing was a challenge. How he was supposed to run after villains...

You're so right about Ruth's fakery! Incidentally, did Eamonn do the dirty on her? I'm not so sure. No one knows the truth of other people's relationships. But from what I hear (from reliable sources), it was a marriage in name only for quite some time. Ruth ended it. I believe she tolerated...

    The Presenters!

Extensions are part of Ruth's terrible hairdo / hairdon't? Wow. To think all those impoverished, Eastern European women sacrificed their precious tresses for that! Regarding Ruth's voice - I take your point about her wanting to shrug off a regional accent. But no elocution teacher on the planet...

    The Presenters!

Lord I agree - I'm about to turn 56, and to my mind Ruth Langsford's offerings are aimed at my mother's generation. But my dear Mum has style, and wouldn't be seen dead in her ghastly bootleg trousers and stretch blazers!
