Well I can only talk from my experience but i bought the bethlehem lights fairy lights last year and have put the next ones I got the other week on a tree next to them and the bethlehem lights ones are no brighter.

Just in case anyone's interested. Next have white indoor/ outdoor fairy lights (50 on the string) which are battery operated and on a timer for £10. I bought a set last week and they are great. I always buy bethlehem lights and would of bought the tsv but after I found these didn't bother.

You are not alone. I can't stand it either. I think its tacky and cheap looking no matter how expensive the item is that its put on. I think the Lola Rose scarves are a rip off and I don't think they are particularly anything special.
