    Investment - A passing thought.

A few years ago I bought a Lorique red zircon in 18k gold ring for about 600 quid from Gemporia. Today, they were selling their red zircon Loriques for 3k (the ring) and 5k (the pendant). Is this a massive rip off?

    Birthday event

Are you enjoying the birthday event? For me, it seems same old, same old, with nothing to write home about. Plus, loads of DT to put up with, which is not exactly a bonus

    Gemporia - struggling financially?

And don't forget the endless candles which everybody and their mother sell! Seriously, I think that all but the most hard core fans of Gemporia now find very little to entice them to watch. I don't get why Gemporia is following this ruining path. Why would anyone watch or buy these days?

    Lyndsay ...

Steve Bennett and Angeline Davies are both directors

    Lyndsay ...

Angeline is now a health coach with a company called MenoMy which helps women going through the menopause. If I had to guess, I would say she is leaving to dedicate herself to it. If that's the case, I have no idea what Gemporia will do without Jess, Hattie and Angeline

What is going on on TJC tonight.

You didn't imagine it. It's a habit of his to call customers "sausages". My husband and I find it absolutely appalling!

    Foxy's fan club

Of all the strange things! According to Emily from Gem Collector someone started on Facebook a Gem Collector's Foxy's fan club. Why, oh why?

    Squealing and Shouting

I was wondering what motivates presenters like Jess to squeal and shout loudly? Do they believe that by doing so they sell more? And do they actually sell more with such behaviour?

    Rachel Hatton

I think she has left. She is no longer on the Presenters' list and Stephanie Joseph has been doing her shift. Stephanie said she is now presenting on a permanent basis so I am guessing Rachel is really not returning. I wonder what happened. She left without saying a world. The reality is that...

    Reselling Gemporia

Has anyone here tried to resell Gemporia's jewellery? When I look at my pieces and wonder about their value, I think more in terms of scrap value than managing to resell it as is. I wonder what your experience is

    Nothing Changes

I think it has changed, but for the worse. They are now more repetitive, limited in their variety of gemstones and relying on heavily treated stones than ever. Also, now every stone they sell, however treated, is 'the rarest' and presenters seem to be competing much more to see who shouts and...

    Pink diamonds

Yesterday Dave Troth and Adina were flogging some Angolan pink diamonds but the more I looked at them on screen the less pink they looked. Actually they looked white. How can they say they have pink diamonds when they look white?

    Random musings on TJC

Has anyone here watched the new co-host Buddhi, who is usually on our screens on the 10pm shift? I found him impossible to watch. Too stiff and repetitive. What were your thoughts?

    Gemporia still sinking

According to Lynn, Glenn Lehrer will have no new collections with Gemporia for the time being. If this is not another sign of Gemporia's decline, I don't know what is

    Random musings on TJC

Is it just me or 90% of the jewellery they now sell are chains?

    Jilin Peridot

As I write this, David Troth is saying that Jilin Peridot is now worth thousands per carats. Do you think that's true? It seems a great deal of money for peridot

    Ludicrous Prices

I actually came to this forum to post about this. Toby kept saying it was 'naturally occuring' and 'a new variety', which no doubt added to the confusion of many viewers

    Ludicrous Prices

Today they were selling a coated topaz ring in sterling silver for 149 pounds. They called it Paraiba colour to justify the price. It's totally insane. But people keep buying, so they are encouraged to continue

    Treatments - now clearer?

Speaking of weights atrociously low, has anyone here seen the Greenland ruby ring with a gold weight of less than a gram (0.93g to be more precise)

    Gem Collector Prices

Thank you for raising this. I have stopped buying from GC because most of the stones they have been selling for more than 20 pounds can be bought sometimes for 5 quid on eBay and Etsy. The prices have been shocking on GC of late.
